I thought it was supposed to make your skin dry out. So far it is making my face oily. Does anyone else have a similar reaction?

I'm on the phone with my best friend (as we speak, er...as I type). I have no personal experience with it, but she uses it.
She has combination skin, and noticed the same effect after two to five days, and it eventually subsided. She said to just stick with the regimen, and everything will even out, just don't skimp on your skin care routine. She had a couple problem areas, and her skin is completely clear now, and hasn't had a breakout in forever.
We were wondering...does anyone know if this is like "purging" (the oily bit that happens initially)?
That seems to make the most sense, although we are definitely not dermatologists. Just a theory.
Take care. :)

When I was a teenager, I used Retin-A (prescribed by my dermatologist) for a few years.

It may make your skin a little oily at first, but it should eventually start to dry you out. As long as you don't over use it (I only applied it once a day) it should work for you pretty quickly.

If it doesn't seem to be helping, or it seems to be making things worse after a couple of weeks, I would call and tell your Dr. you'd like to try something else.

Good luck!

Th retin-A will first bring oil to the surface. It will help your skin to heal better. Later after more use the drying effects will come in.

I would hold off a day or two to see what it is going to do. When I first used it, it burned my face. I had to wait for it to heal to start back using it. It is almost like a chemical peal.
It works really good though.

Think about it logically

Does Retin-A want to make money? - Yes
Are they going to cure you and end their relationship with your wallet? - No

Quit using the crap - the Lord healeth the bruised reed.

Give it time to work. It will, but not overnight.
