I don't know where it came from, but it is derogatory, and no woman likes being called a name other than her own or a pet name. Although some women may enjoy being called derogatory names in certain situations. (eh?)

I don't know where it came from but I think in the past, it also meant a tramp or a girl who slept around. I don't take offence to it though, nowadays guys don't mean it in a bad way...the ones I know at least.
