By this I mean, do you think you can find the "special" someone online. There are a lot of crazy people, but is it possible to that "special" person. Or should it just be better to stick to the old fashion way of meeting them in person first?

I would never have believed it if it didn't happen to me personally. I went on line to chat with some ladies and soon found a real women and we decided to meet face to face. We have been together for 3 years now and are getting married on May 20 of this year. Yes you are very correct in stating that there are a lot of crazy people who claim to be anything other than what they truly are on-line (people of both sexes also I must add), but there must be some truly real folks also as I met one and will remain grateful for this chance meeting till they plant me.

Of course you can meet that special someone online!! There are just as many crazies out and about as their are on the internet!
You meet them online and after a couple email exchanges, meet them in person. Take time getting to know them, and it's just like you met them at a bar or somewhere else.
My sis did this. Many people have. It's not any easier the old fashioned way.

Meeting someone online is fast becoming a common method in making friends.
As you mentioned, there are alot of crazies out there. But this shouldn't discourage you. There is sure to be someone among the millions of internet users who will fit one bill or another.
But personally, i prefer meeting up in person. People can hide behind screens, and be anyone they choose to be. In the flesh, they can't hide much, and you learn so much more about each other.

It depends, I met my girlfriend on-line, on myspace by accident, she read some good books so i merely commented and now 4 months later we're living together and are really happy. On-line is just like the real world, there are good people and there are idiots, its like a bar except no-one drinks and you have to be a little more careful. I think that as technology has changed its easier to meet people on line now and for it to be ok, whereas in the early days, it was all chat rooms and stranger people used computers, since everyone has one now, I think its fine.

I know people who have found the"one" online but it's not for everyone. Just be careful if you meet someone for a face 2 face. Public places only (possibly have a friend watching out nearby until you are sure you will be alright. but it's not for me.

its possible,i like the old fashion way,theres something about meeting a person face to face.for me i get a sense or feel what that person is like,were as online u cant..gl n tc

Um, there is a possibility, but don't count on it those people are usually weird, that wouldn't be very smart, 2 try to meet them because u could possibly get murdered or something

I did! It took me a year of dating before I met him. I had fun and did not meet any weirdos, just regular guys. Of course that's not to say there aren't any oddballs online, you just have to weed them out like you do in real life. I would have never met my boyfriend had I not been online because neither of us hang out at bars or know the same people. He was online for two years before we met, so you have to be patient. Be careful and have fun!

I think you can. i met the love of my life online. I wasn't even looking for anyone. We were both members of this forum. He just happened to IM me...and the rest was history. We've been together almost 1 1/2 years :)
