It's easier to shift the blame to someone else...anyone else rather than taking responsibility for ones own actions. Life's all about choices and the outcome of those choices...good or bad.

Human nature - when something goes wrong, people want to place blame - usually away from themselves. It's a difficult life lesson to take responsibility for your own actions and we have an entire generation that has been taught that circumstance or 'Twinkies' caused their ill behavior.

Convenience. When yu "give your life over to the lord" you don't have to ever think again. "The Lord" does it for you. So a mistake is god's doing not yours.

Why do they credit god when doctors are the ones who are healing?

perhaps its because people proclaim their god all powerful, all loving, and all merciful and when they have something crummy happen to them it negates this teaching and fills them with a bit of hate.
