Do you want the military to go back home, or do you wanna stay in Iraq and finish what you've started?
Most people here wantyou to come back of course, and some other people want them to stay and don't want to be "defeated" do you like the new strategy? or do you think withdrawing will be better. I just wanted to hear some opinions from those who have been there and know what it feels like to be in war.
Thanks in advance!!

My husband is there right now. From what he says he is doing a lot of good things, however he is not sure that if and when the US leaves will IRAQ be able to maintain whatever level of safety and democracy they are enjoying now....I think it is slightly worthless in the end because the outcome will be the same-- they will go back to whoever is feeding them, may that be the US, saddam, ossama, or any other dictator.

I'm not going to comment on the strategy, that's not my job. What is my job is fighting the nations wars and detering enemy agression. How would leaving before the job is done meet the goal of detering enemy agression?

First off, a stable Iraq will provide forward basing in the Middle East, allowing for rapid overwhelming response to terrorist threats as they arise (rather than flying 8 hours from Europe). This would allow a chance to save more lives as well as to provide a visible means of America's global interest and presence to others in the region. Some might call that bullying, but I'll settle with being a bully if it means nations stop pushing for genocide and war.

More importantly, we have a responsibility to the iraqis and (more importantly) to ourselves to finish what we started. The Iraqi reasoning is clear, we turned their world on its head. The reason we owe it to ourselves is this: We went into this with a unified goal... regime change and a stable iraq without all the religious killings under a government chosen by the people. To deny ourselves that goal is to dishonor all those who've died in this cause, as well as to slap in the face all those who've served in Iraq.

Let us finish the job.

Remember that Iraq voted for a democratic government - a small minority of terrorists are causing the violence. If we leave then we are letting the terrorists become dictators.
