Wait until your puppy is fully weaned and ready to be trained. Usually 8-10 weeks. Then, make sure you are only feeding treats for puppies! Nutro makes really good treats that are called Training Bits. You can break them into small pieces so your pup can have a treat that is small enough for it to handle. I wouldn't recommend using toast as some dogs have flour allergies.

You can give your puppy treats at any age, but remember this. Treats usually are full of artificial flavors and preservatives and should only be given in moderation. Make sure your puppy is getting mostly puppy food and only treats occasionally. Also, you can use kibbles of his food as treats and they work just as well without adding extra calories, flavors, colors and preservatives.
There is no good reason to give your dog toast.

A dog that has been properly weened from its mother & is being fed a high quality puppy food is ready for "puppy treats". This does NOT include human food! Puppy food is made to meet the dog's every need nutritionally. Puppies stomaches are very sensitive at this stage & random food items can cause him to experience digestive problems (i.e diarrhea, vomitting). Keep treats that are specifically made for puppies at a minimum, 1-2 per day between meals. And remember...we don't eat their food...they shouldn't eat ours! Have fun & give him lots of love & attention! Good Luck

You ussually get a puppy at 8 weeks right there is no reason that ur puppy cannot have treats at this age they must be minmal but he can have them whenever. As he gets older he can have more treats though

you need to be caerfull what treats you give your pup as you may have a problem once they taste human food you will end up with a fussy puppy if you wont to give the pup treats you are better sticking with puppy treats why dont you buy a box of bakers complete the puppy one and give the pup that my pups to which i have 7 at tjhis moment and are just over 5 weeks old and they love it as it has little bits of mince morsels in it you need to be so caerfull if you change your pups diet as you will be worried then if he stops eating his food then that would be because he has tasted something realy nice then you have a problem so if you want to give him a treat stick to doggy treats

They make actual puppy treats and as long as your puppy has their teeth you can give them treats. Treats are better than toast due to it helps keep their teeth clean and it gives them something to chew on. I would hold off on the toast but, give the little one a puppy treat.

you dont actually say how old the dog is but if he is eating dog food then I say it is a good bet he will eat anything now so start. beware of to many snacks he/she will put to mutch weight on, and dont feed chocolate unless it is from the pet shop because the chocolate we eat is poison to them, the odd little bit now then is ok but not very often. You want a laugh as well? I bought my dogs buttons from the pet shop and tried one and couldnt stop eating them lol. Mind you I had a good growl when someone knocked on the door. lolol. by the way you should make sure your dogs have plenty of vegetables in their diet, the vitamins and minerals are very good for them. I know this because I am a dog breeder.

I cut up small pieces of cheese and salami, and my 4 month old loves them and trains with them, it is good enough for us, so good enough for him. I don't like these dog treats full of inedible rubbish, and toast is no necessary. Just have a small plastic container full of cheesey and garlic sausagey bits handy, and your dog will do anything you ask.
