Depending on how old the hamburger is, you may just want to pitch it. If it has been in your freezer for over 6 months, the flavor is no longer at peak and it probably has developed flavor robbing ice crystals. Also, if it is plain old hamburger (as opposed to say ground sirloin or similar), it undoubtedly has tons of fat in it, and that really isn't a good thing as you probably know. As for the recipes, there are hundreds if not thousands on the Web and all you have to do is Google to find them.

My family loves this burger, I don't like burgers much either, but I love this one. First caramelize one medium yellow onion and then set it aside in a warm oven. Mix a cup of mayo with some fresh garlic and lemon juice and set aside. Slice a large beefsteak tomato and sprinkle with salt, pepper, olive oil and fresh basil. To assemble, spread the mayo on both buns and place a slice of the tomato on the bottom then put the cooked pattie on top of it, top that with the caramelized onions and a slice of lettuce. It is a really yummy burger!
