Like believers of Christanity, etc have the Bible.... what text do Buddhist followers refer to?

Tipitaka is an outline of the Pali Buddhist Canonical Scriptures of Theravada Buddhism...(Dhammapada is the best known and most widely esteemed text in the Pali Tipitaka, the sacred scriptures of Theravada Buddhism.)

Buddhism refers to a number of different texts. Also there are a number of different Buddhist traditions, and each has its own additional texts. The basics though, are listed below:

* The Vinaya Pitaka: The disciplinary rules for the different levels of buddhist monks and nuns
* The Sutra Pitaka: These are the sayings and lessons of Gautama Buddha
* The Abidharma Pitaka: Commentaries on Gautama Buddha's teachings.
