My friends brother went on one of those shows. They are a scam - they said - 'do you mind if we take a few hours longer to do it?'

In a sixty minute house makeover they use industrial fans face them at the walls so that they will dry faster.

We offered a staggering little dormer bungalow in Northampton that has timber-chip and painted paper everywhere. I origanally planned to strip all of this and repaint. I truthfully have because been laid low with angina and had to have a coronary heart op'. we at the instant are thinking of advertising and in all probability shifting in a foreign country, yet people at present desire to have soft painted partitions. of course a newly adorned living house is going to sell greater somewhat, so this could be an incredible help. We does no longer desire something outrageous however.

i'm a painter and decorator and i'll tell you they show are a scam, there is no way in the world they can do a whole house in 60 mins,i can't beleave people believe this kind of stuff....for instance emulisioning one room will take about an hour just to dry with one coat and you need at least 2,gloss takes up 5 hours to dry so.....

does it ? or do they make it appear so
you can use a custom mix oil base that will dry very fast ( the solvent evaporates quicker than the normal solvents ) - if you have ever used spray paint then you know what i mean most dry in 1/4 the time as brush on - they can do this because the solvents are not exposed to air until sprayed

The "tea break" actually lasts a couple of hours, giving the paint a chance to start to dry. as long as it looks ok on tv, it doesn't matter if it isn't 100%.

Well, it doesn't. It is called artistic 'something' (can't remember) bottom line is, they misrepresent some of their stuff to add flavor to the show. Like not giving a close up of the paint job after pulling the tape off.

Those shows are actually shot over several hours and sometimes days. They are then edited to fit into the 60 minute slot the show airs in.
