This is a very serious problem and should be checked out by a medical professional. My husband had what he thought was a small lymph node on his neck. Eventually it grew to be about the size of a 50 cent piece around. It was hard and somewhat painful. It had to be removed. There are a lot of nerves that run through the facial area and the neck, behind and in front of the ears, under the nose and eyes, you get my point so I think you need to check a little further. My husbands turned out to be a facial node growing around the main nerve along his jaw line from his ear. Had he not had it removed in time he would have lost all feeling on the right side of his face and permanently on the right side of his jaw and neck. His mouth would droop forever. Basically what I am saying is one persons opinion is not enough to just let it go and do nothing further about finding out what it is. Someone knows, an Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat doctor was who my husband saw and he new immediately what the problem was. Perhaps you should do the same. Good luck and don't wait around too long these things grow pretty quickly say 6 months or so once they start getting size and waiting isn't an option. It could be bells palsy, but I don't think so I think it has more to do with the nerve and a node growing around it which must be removed before it can't be removed without causing paralysis.

Bell's palsy is a viable choice if MRI or CT scan shows no evidence of a stroke.
I had a friend with Bell's palsy and his entire right side from hairline to jaw was numb.

WOW! this same thing happened to me on the plane two days ago. It was really freaky. The left side of my face felt like it was going to explode. My left side of my upper lip and gums went numb, too. After about an hour or so, it passed.
Maybe the plane ride made me so nervous that I messed up my breathing. And then, maybe that bothered my nerves or something..
Hmm....

Pinched nerve, nerve damage, stroke, without more info it's hard to say. I'd see another Dr if I were you.
