Each of my kids has their own side of the computer, how do I make it so that the internet shuts off on their side after an hour? So each of my kids only gets one hour a day and I don't have to keep track of it? So it just shuts off? Don't critisize me please, my 3 kids fight like cats and dogs over the internet so I need a way to regulate their times. (I tried a cooking timer, they just reset it.)

It has to be free though, like the progrom Enuff, only a free one, because I don't exactly have the money, or credit card to buy offline. THANKS!

Give them seperate times on it,dont let them use it at the same time, thats a problem right there. Have one get on and tell the other when the clock hits so and so time then they can get ona dn the other gets off.u know that the child whose tur it is next will not let that hour pass by without the other sibling moving from that seat...If they know how to tell time then they should know when an hour passes...If they are even a couple minutes late off that hour ground them 1 day from the computer, then after that day is up if they do it again ground them for 2 days and so forth...Children nowdays try to have control over the parents way too much,u need to stand your ground and let your mean daddy side show =)..Good Luck!

I wouldn't honestly let my kids on the net without me. There's just too much crap and too many people who are up to no good. This site has lots of these people! (NOT EVERYONE, JUST THE ONES WHO WANT TO PUT THE BABY IN THE BLENDER & STUPID THINGS LIKE THAT)

The internet is not safe and AOL would be perfect for you, if you don't have alot of money. Get rid of it, then you wont have this problem. Plus you will have extra cash.

If you leave them alone on the net I hope you have a spy program monitioring them. You never know who they are talking to or what it is about!

I know what it's like to try and keep a kid off the Internet my son started out playing games.... One night his little sister 6 years old walked in my office and saw naked ladies on the computer she came and told me I looked on my computer and OMG porn like crazy I asked him 12 years old how long he had been looking it up he said two weeks. One of his classes is Sex education so he came home and was looking up words he had learned in class and what came up was porn. Needless to say he is now not allowed on the computer at all. Please check and see exactly what your children are looking up. I never thought I would have found what I did but it happens.

Ever heard of TweakXP? Hunt it down on download.com. It's been a while since I've used it, but I'm pretty sure there are features in there that will allow you to limit time on user profiles, and even limit access to some applications.

It's free to try. Now that you've got me thinking about it, I'll fiddle around with my copy on my home PC.

my mother has AOL parental control on her computer and she set it up so that when the girls sing on to their settings the timer starts and after one hour AOL will log it self off and the only way they can get back on is if my mother puts in her pass word...if she doesn't they cant get on the Internet till the next day....they only get an hour a day.....i hope this helps......good luck

You won't get criticism here. I think this is a great question. When trying to make dinner, entertain a 2 year old, and help with homework, I find it hard to micro monitor everything my children do. Please update your additional comments if you find something that will accomplish this. Good luck!

I'm not sure there is a way to just shut it off. You may just have to deal with watching them. Sorry
