Saldivar was a fine fighter a technician who could bang. Lopez chases after Saldivar for the majority of the fight as Saldivar rallies off the ropes and out of the corners with furious counterpunching too take a highly disputed split decision. Saldivar a true hall of famer and extremely underrated.

D. Lopez - W 42 (KO's 39) TF 48 - W pct 88% - KO pct 81% - wins over Olivares, Kotey, C. Castillo and O'Grady - KO'ed by Chacon, Sanchez[2], Fukuyama and Rodriquez - #26 ranked puncher

V. SALDIVAR - W 37 (KO's 26) TF 40 - W pct 93% - KO pct 65% - wins over Laguna, Ramos, Famechon and Legra - KO'ed by Shibata and Jofre - #73 ranked fighter

The question is what prevails in this bout - Lopez's power or Saldivar overall greatness as a feather wt. In this bout, Vicente uses his skills to secure a 15 rd majority decision.

Good match up. Lopez by late KO. Lopez KO'd Olivares and I think Olivares was better than Salvidar.
