It is more likely to get reproductive cancers and other illnesses requiring surgery before it stops coming into season. Part of the surgery for such problems is effectively the same as spying. How about saving yourself some grief and saving the dog some pain and suffering and get it spayed now!

Many stop around 10ish, some don't. I would get her spayed though, I lost my old Shephard to a cancerous mammory gland tumour that the vet said would never have occured if I had had her spayed. Apparantly it's to do with the inbreeding we have done with the breed, the levels of hormones as they age or something. Ask your vet for details.

Well, they can be quite old by that time, but keep this in mind. The more heat cycles she goes through, the more likely she is to develop pyometra (a serious uterine infection that requires an emergency spay to treat). Pyometra can be fatal! So, if you aren't breeding her, I definitely suggest spaying her before by around 5 or 6 years old at the latest.

Unlike humans, b1tches don't have a menopause & will continue to come into season throughout their lives. They can also become pregnant which, of course, can be very dangerous for an elderly dog.

There is no end to a dog coming into heat. The only way to stop that is to spay your dog. A spayed dog is a much happier dog and a much healthier dog. Do you plan on mating her? If not spay her for her own health.

My dog is eleven and still goes into season. It's less frequent but still a hassle. best thing you can do is have her fixed, it puts a stop to all that and will prolong her life.

spay your dog and you won't have to worry about it..
i adopted a 13 year old aussie shep from a shelter (they were afraid to do surgery on her because of her age) and she still came into heat...
