So we pose a few questions? So what. It is your doubts in your belief that make you angry. I am not an aethist, but the non christians in here do not seem to be angry, they just want you to give them sound reasoning or proof or something other than bibile quotes to help your cause. But you do not provide, so we ask more questions. We are the teachers, you are the insolent students. Or so it seems to me.

Because people are so blind to the truth. It makes us frustrated because they can't see what the future lies ahead of them.

I think that many of the Christians on the forum get angry because of the insolence of so many of the Atheist questions. If you want to ask a legitimate question that is fine and time and time again I see Christians trying to answer but the forum is also filled with idiot question after idiot question, Sho-Nuff the Architect must ask 100 questions a day concerning things like God's breathe is it bad and all kinds of stuff that is posted to just be annoying. or the countless anti-Semitic questions that abound. It just becomes a strain.

Or a question is asked and people both Atheist and Christian try to response in an intelligent manner and then the asker picks the response that he or she wanted to hear not the one which made the most sense.

If the forum moderators would do their job and make sure nothing but legitimate questions were being asked, or even provide a forum for people who just want to ask nonsense then perhaps everyone would be less angry

Well, I'm not angry. I always try to give good answers.

I think many get offended because there are quite a few questions that are merely designed to mock our beliefs.

They are just looking for fuel to put on the fire.

At the same time, they get mad because they can't answer the questions that are asked because it is beyond their knowledge.

It exposes their ignorance of the book we revere. Honestly, if they don't know they should not try to answer the question. If they have not done a serious bible study they should keep quiet and read the bible. They also make the mistake of merely repeating something they've taught without sufficient study to back it up.

It is basic human nature. No one likes to be made a fool of.

We call it pride. Pride leads to sin...

Instead of pride they should be humbled. This should lead them to study and research the bible to really know God and what it is he is trying to tell us.

Anyhow, we use scripture to back up our claims simply because if you ask a christian based question, wouldn't you use a christian based source?

That's like asking a biologist to answer a biology question without using works derived from scientific biology journals and books.

Doesn't make sense does it?

However, some questions warrant outside sources. Usually they aren't christian based at that point.

However, let me point out how many times christians were called idiots and other disrespectful names by so called peace loving or curious folks. Some of the answers and questions are very malicious and hate filled.

This what we call "The pot calling the kettle black..."

I'm not angry. I tire, perhaps, of the incessant barrage of ridicule but that's OK. I press on for the occasional valid question.

If someone asks a question about God or Christianity where should one go but to the source? Hello.

You want my opinion? Is my opinion of greater value that God's Word? I can give you my personal opinion but I try to back it up with what God has said. It's illogical that that would anger people but so be it.

Insolent students. That's funny.
Aren't we all students? Aren't we all teachers?
Have a nice day.

I have no idea - I suppose some of the mean things said make some frustrated. I have seen responses from people who call themselves Christian that are not very nice. But I've also seen some very loving and well thought out answers. I guess it's like the old adage that the squeaky wheel gets the grease - only the angry or mean answers get reaction - but please know, that is not how most Christians I know act - most are loving, kind and generous.

Angry people post more.

There are a lot of angry posts from both sides on this site, not just Christians.

Nor are all the Christians here angry or unreasonable.

Your statement that we atheists are the teachers and they the students is arrogant.

Unless someone asks to be taught by you, you're being just as bad as the religious wackos who think they can force everyone to believe what they believe. (I'm not referring to all religious people here, just the arrogant ones.)

I've seen (all too few) genuine questions from believers directed at atheists.

They weren't angry, just curious as to what we believe and why.

Many people in here are angry, no matter what their belief is. As for your statement about Christians giving bible quotes to back up our belief, is not what others believe something that they read out of a book? Aren't we all just reciting what we have read and been taught? No one has their "own opinion" or "own belief". We all learned what we know from somewhere else. The difference between scientific articles and the bible though, is that the bible doesn't change. It is was and always will be the Word of God. Scientific articles are always changing their mind, finding something new, coming up with another theory. I trust the unchanging, perfect Word of God.

I would like to apologize for any Christian that appears angry/ I am a Christian with my personal beliefs and do not want to force them on no one I do not believe in religion because it is carnel(man-made)and I am sure I get alot of bad reports over that, but it doesnt bother me because my beliefs are firmly planted I hope I can remain open to learning and if they are wrong learn that/ I appreciate teachers of the word but also remember in John 4 He said He would teach us

I don't know I'm a Christian and as far as i know anger is not part of what God wants for us and us there are many quotes in Bible about it and even though you don't want a quote i had to send just one
James 1:20
for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires.
James 1:19-21 (in Context) James 1 (Whole Chapter)

I, personally, am not angry but I do see a lot of people from both sides come here half ****** and READY to fight. I don't get it myself.

I see this as an opportunity to converse will different people and maybe even learn something in the process, but I feel like I might be the minority.

Hmmm.... it could be because they feel they're being attacked. The non-christians may not be angry because they're doing the attacking?

I find it disingenuous for you to pose such a question. There is a game being played here and everyone knows it, including you. The atheists are not asking for "sound reasoning or proof or something other than bible quotes". They're poking fun. Plain and simple.
