It's breaking my heart to go against the Professor, but Pep would befuddle Nelson for the 15 rounds. Nelson would be frustrated and weak from chasing Will-O the Wisp and lose a lopsided decision. No knockdowns in the fight and awful to watch.

Willie Pep is on of the greatest fighters of all time. Featherweight champ from 1942 to 1949.Great boxing series with Sandy Saddler. From 1951 thru the end of his career he never had a title shot. With 230 wins and 11 losses, I would have to say he would beat Nelson by a majority decision

PEP - W 230 (KO's 66) TF 242 - W pct 95% - KO pct 27% - wins over Famechon, C. Wright and DeMarco - KO'ed by "Kid" Bassey, Saddler[2] and 2 other unknown fighters - #6 ranked fighter

NELSON - W 39 (KO's 28) TF 46 - W pct 85% - KO pct 61% - wins over Leija, Gomez, La Porte and Fenech - KO'ed by Sanchez - #65 ranked fighter

While training for the fight, Nelson managers hire Saddler as an advisor/trainer. Nelson learns his lessons well and uses them thoroughly in this bout. As it was when Pep fought Saddler, the dirty/rough house tactics throw Willie off his game. Both men are repeatedly warned and lose points for fouls. It seems that Willie is more concerned with Saddler in the corner than with Nelson in the ring thus Nelson is able to secure a 15 rd majority decision.
