That depends as to whether the club is public or private. If it's a private course the pro has to kiss the butt of all the members. He/she may come across as friendly but it's done out of necessity. If it's a public course the pro is usually friendly to a few members. Usually those that play well and, therefore, someone he/she can play with. The club I belong to is public but is expensive for the area and the pro is rather aloof. I have never played a hole with the pro because my golf skills are far below his. He's usually friendly and helpful before charitable events because I make contributions toward those events I truly feel make a difference.

The easiest way to learn golf like a pro is by following "The Simple Golf Swing" program. It's primarily a 31 page eBook that teaches golfers how to make solid contact with the ball, how to avoid hitting fat, how to avoid slicing, how get more power, accuracy, and consistency in your swing. Consistency being the number 1 golf skill.
You not only get the eBook though, you also receive a ton of extra material including video, lessons on putting, driving, chipping, sand play etc. Here is their official site: http://www.golfswingguru.net

I play mostly at a VFW course in MD and the pro is great. He was a prior service guy and is a great player and a great coach/teacher. He's very friendly and helpful with equipment and playing advice.

He is great!
His name is Joey Pickavance. He is very funloving, doing things like hitting a left-handed club right handed, and many other things.
He really helps you out and has gadgets and gizmos for whatever your problem is. He lets you keep training aids for a while for free.
He even built a hi-tech golf swing analyzer! It's called 'System Golf.'
Here's his site: http://systemgolf.com/

ok, i took lessons from a PGA lessons teacher, his name is Bob Sather, he is just the greatest guy you'll ever meet, he teaches you almost every aspect of the game, step-by-step, my game has improved SO much after just 5 lessons with him, he kind of gives you tips outside of the golf world too, me and him are kind of like friends now, because even after lessons i would still go golfing and see him, talk a little bit, after im done ill sit and eat lunch, and he'll keep me company, just give me even more tips, hes just a great guy, plain and simple...
