Helicobacter pylori is the bacterium invovled in development of gastric and duodenal ulcers (peptic ulcers). Individuals who have excessive production of gastric acid and are found to have positive blood or stool tests for Helicobacter pylori are at much increased risk of developing peptic ulcer disease. If these individuals have symtoms of abdominal pain, burning sensation over the stomach, nausea, and vomiting (which may or may not be bloody), then a positive H. pylori test result warrants antibiotic treatment for eradication of the organism. The physician may also decide to perform an upper endoscopy. This involves the use of a fiberoptic camera/scope device to visualize the gastric mucosa and take biopsies for tissue and microscopic examination.
The symptoms of peptic ulcer disease are as I mentioned above. Classically, symptoms improve upon eating and are worse with an empty stomach. However, this is not the case in 100% of cases. Patients may find relief in taking over-the-counter antacids and/or prescription histamine blockers such as Cimetidine and Famotidine. Another very useful class of medications used is called "PPI's" which include drugs such as Nexium, Prevacid, and Aciphex.
The symptoms of vomiting you describe are very non-specific. They may be caused by a variety of different diseases from a simple food poisoning to drug side effects and even esophageal disease. If your symptoms have persisted for a long time (more than a couple of days) or you have other accompanying symptoms of difficulty swallowing, pain, etc, you must consult a physician immediately.

Helicobactor pylori is a bacteria that can be found in stomach linings and in the colon. The only sure way to know if you have it, is usually by an extraction of a polyp from either of these areas. It is then sent to a pathological laboratory where is is processed and stained with either Alcian Blue or Toulidine Blue. These dyes make the bacteria stand out from the background. Symptoms can include, vomiting, loose stool with blood, constipation, irritated bowel. If you are suspicious of having this bacteria, it is treatable, but you need to get to a doctor. Hope this helps.

I just finished my course of anti biotics for it, a few weeks ago. It was diagnosed from a blood sample. I went to the doc's complaining of constipation and a pain in my side. No other symptoms, but it turned out to be helicobacter pylori. I know of others who have it and their symptoms were, loss of appetite, diarrhea, stomach pains, vomiting. I tried a Google search and just typed in the name heli........ and found out quite a lot about it. Good luck

That is the bacteria that can cause ulcers, are you throwing up blood? having abdominal pain? is the pain helped by antacids? If you answered yes to these questions it might be time to see a doctor. However, if you are having persistent vomiting then you should probably go see a doctor for that also, it can lead to dehydration and metabolic disorders.
