Since I have had my son in 05 I have had severe pain in my lower back and hip. Without ins I cant have an MRI done so I have opted to go to a chiropracter. He said that my right hip is rotated and has been trying to get it back correctly. At first, it was helping but there was a hole about the size of a half dollar, yesterday and today it is excruciating pain and that hole is now the size of my palm. Has anyone ever had anything similar or knows what in the worl this might be? I can barely walk and have an apt with the chiro this afternoon but was hoping that someone might be able to relate and have advice to ease the pain in the meantime. I am so tired of hurting and not being able to live my life to the fullest. I am only 30 and otherwise healthy and am not overweight. My whole right hip is now different to the naked eye and my right leg is almost an inch and a half shorter than my right, and is getting worse. Is the chiro making things worse?

Chiro took xrays nothing showed. then explained to me about idiopathic pain, big word for in my head. Although the hole or dent in my hip is not in my head. Went to er for help with pain till i can go to GP on Monday. They said definitely need an MRI and gave me meds for pain until then. I will not be going back to chiro with my idiopathic pain, if it is in my head then I do not need to pay him for adjustments to my back, so with him informing me of the situation I realized that the only thing in my head is the wrong decision to pay him $115 a week. Thanks for all the answers!

Stop the chiro and see a doctor! It has got worse and you are in more pain, that should ring alarm bells. See doctor ASAP;

Chiropractors are in a whole different league than medical doctors.

Go to a medical doctor as soon as you can, or go to at least 2 different chiropractors and see if they have the same opinion. If none of the 3 say the same things...then really make up your mind to get an MRI and think of it as an investment on your life.

Well if it were me I would definitly get a second opinion instead of getting better it sounds like you are getting worse according to your last sentence. Alot of chiropractors will give you a free consutation and by the time you spend all this money going to them you could have had an mri. Hospitals will set up payment plans if you talk to their buisiness office

Wow!

I would have to agree that you need to see an orthopedist: Chiropractors have their place, but if there is a 'hole' that is growing the chiropractor can't help with that! And it's time to get a different sort of assistance!

Good luck!

Theres a good chance he is! It sounds as if you have a degenerative disorder and you REALLY should see a local ortho surgeon as soon as you can. In the beginning stages, they can do so many things, but if you wait you may only be able to have a replacement put in :(
