Nobody but a dermatologist can really tell you what is wrong or what to do but unless it's a mole, which you don't want to scratch, it is nothing more than a scratched freckle. However, if in your daily scratching you find yourself gouging your freckle and it begins to bleed then it probably isn't a freckle and you should see a doctor about the problem. Also, freckles are very sun sensitive (I know because I have a few million of my own), keep that in mind when your are outside they also become more prominent and seem to multiply the more you're in the sun. Scratching anything to much is a sign that there's something more wrong than meets the eye so you should get it checked out. If you don't want to do that put some cream on it to sooth it like cortisone cream or Nivea cream, these should help. Good luck and as I tell my kids "quit scratching, your nails are dirty and carry a lot of germs and if a freckle scratches open, all those little germs are going to crawl up inside there and live and make a new home, then you've got some real problems". They scratch a lot less now.

Are you SURE it is a 'freckle' and not a mole? Does it 'itch'? Does it ever hurt? I'd go see a 'plastic surgeon' at a good hospital clinic, preferably one associated with a good University Medical School. YOU COULD HAVE THE "BEGINNINGS" OF CANCER. Better to be 'safe' than 'sorry' ...
