He is 4 months, 75% pom, 25% spitz. The reason I shaved it is because when i got Zero, his hair wasn't trimmed nice.

Yes, it will grow back. It will take a while for it to get long again, but no matter how many times you shave that breed combination, I assure you it will come back. To get it to grow in nicely make sure you brush out the undercoat that comes in. This will make her coat healthier and prevent matting. You should own a slicker brush and a double row undercoat rake. Regular brushing is a must for this type of coat. It will be hard to keep up with, bring her to a groomer periodically to help with the really heavy shedding times of the year--spring and late fall usally. They can also trim her up so she looks all neat and spiffy!

My aunt had a pomeranian and the vet shaved him and the hair didn't grow back. And when the hair did grow back it grew in grey and looked almost like a balding man's hair. It was kind of gross looking. It took like 3 years for the hair to grow back normally.

Actually every now and again in dogs like pomeranians, american eskimos, and chows after being shaved their hair will not all come back in as full or thick and may look patchy and thin forever. No vet I have asked can attest to why but as a groomer I have seen it happen nuerous times. Its as if the guard hairs do not come back the same

Your dog's hair wasn't trimmed as nice as you wanted it, so you shaved a puppy during the winter months. Smart.

Yes, it'll grow back. Wait for summer next time. Buy the dog a sweater.

Yes, it will grow back. Lots of Poms get shaved down, especially in the summer or if their owners just can't afford to have them groomed or groom themselves on a regular basis. Now it will grow back more evenly. Just keep it brushed out starting now so it won't get bad again. Also, it will feel a little coarse until it grows out, but that's normal.

Isn't this a question you should ask BEFORE shaving it?

When the hair grows back, it will grow back substantially just like it was never trimmed.

Find it funny all the people saying it will grow back, "just like us." Dogs are not humans! Depending on the breed, their hair might actually grow back quite differently from us.

Yes, it'll grow back, but may have a slightly different color or texture.

I shaved my black and white Shih Tzu, and her hair is coming back in dark grey and white!

Just like your hair it grows back. Some dogs take longer then others just like humans.

Yes it will grow back. It will take sometime to grow back long like it was, but just like us, it will grow back.
