No it doesn't sound tacky, I have seen it before, at baby showers and stuff an I like it! I think you need to put something on it though. Like a little rectangle piece of paper that says "Nancy and Bob June 5th 2007". You could write it on with calligraphy or print it off your computer then cut it with scissors that have more of a design to them. Congrats and good luck!

I like the Tic Tac idea but I just have issues with the presentation. Tic tacs are very small and might spill all over. Handling the tic tacs to wrap them can make the colors run and they may become dirty. Nothing worse than gooey candy, your guests won't eat them.
I have a better idea:
What about wrapping a BOX of white tic tacs in a white tulle bag and tie it with a beautiful pale green ribbon. It will look way more elegant and sanitary this way. You can buy the white tic tacs boxes in wholesale and it will be very cheap.
Congrats and good luck

The colors sounds nice. If you use only one tulle square you might be disappointed in the final look. Also, would you be leaving the tic tacs in their box or emptying them into the tulle? If you cut the tulle into a circle, it would look better, and using more than one layer, perhaps one green and one white, would really add to the fullness of the final look.
If you're open to other ideas for what you put inside, Google "Wholesale Candy" and click on "wedding" on a few different sites. You'll be surprised at the reasonable deals you can get on wedding-themed candies.
Congratulations.

I'd use pale green fabric, white tulle and silver Hershey kisses. Kisses seem to make more sense for a wedding rather than tic tacs. Plus, it will probably be less expensive. I'd do the green fabric and tie with a white tulle bow.

You're going to need A LOT of tic tacs.....they might be a little too small. I would use another type of candy. Also, you can buy little light green organza bags or white organza bags. That might be easier than cutting and tying the tulle.
Congrats and best wishes!

It could get expensive, depending on the # of people. Some may take offense to it. Why do you have to do the traditional "bag" thing? Like I'm one to talk ( I did it on my 2nd). When is the wedding? If it is in the spring, and you are going to be in the right place, why dont you do something like flower seeds, if you are set on the "bag" idea. Otherwise, you could do something like sunflower seeds, the kind you eat. It could be a snack for someone, or when they throw it as you run out.It would be safe for animals too. I think the tic tacs may get messy, also, like if it rains.

I think it's a nice idea. You may be better off cutting circles from it or buying precut circles (they are really cheap). Use both colors of fabric, or just green. I like tic-tacs and I think it's unique as a favor.

Sounds okay, but I would re-think the tic-tacs. If you wanted to do tic-tacs..take a look at this site.

Or, if you wanted to stay with the little bags, I would do something else to put inside. Maybe some green jelly beans or other mints.

Nice idea, but a label of the event and date should be added and a variety of candy would be better, even if the colors aren't green and white, the wrapping is enough to carry the color theme.
