Does that make Buddha a servant of Satan?

I'm not a Buddhist. I could have used Ghandi. However, this is showing me that a significant portion of Christians are, well... Sorry, but you guys and girls can never use the moral superiority argument again.

Anything that points people away from truth is evil, so yes, I think Buddha has deluded many. He taught that the basic problem with the world is desire, and that you should therefore eliminate desire. If you are successful, you lose your independent self and become one with the universe. You cease to exist as an individual. That's the highpoint.

For Christianity, the point is not to eliminate desire but to conform your desires to that of Christ, so that what you desire becomes what ius good and loving and best for others. The highpoint is to be found faithful by God and to hear "well done, my good and faithful servant."

This is not, as many have said, simply different versions of God. They are in total contrast. They can't both be true, thus they are opposed to each other at a fundamental level. The only points they have an agreement is that you should be kind to one another.

Buddha exists separate from concepts of God and Satan. Those belong to Christianity. Leave them there.

What makes you think Buddha and Gandhi weren't for God? - "Though I stumble a thousand times, yet will I rise up and try again, for I believe that God saves those who persevere." - Gandhi
Gee, just my opinion, but the guy sounds pretty pro-God to me....

THere are more religions in the world that don´t agree with you and think that your religion is evil. You should take a more critical look at what exactly satan is.

That's right.
Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the light. Anything that teaches other than the things of Christ is an enemy of God. The only way to God is through Jesus Christ.

All other ways are futile.

It makes it Satanic, yes. This is because God clearly tells us that is "idol" worship and is of Satan.

One really ugly side of all religions is how little they allow for grey areas. You're with us or against us type attitudes.

Why don't you go and meditate under a tree. If you are lucky you might get struck by lightning.
