After death question!!?

If the Bible says death is sleep, that the dead know of nothing, how come many people experience going through a white tunel and having feelings? or how can anyone talk to the dead? or talk of spirits of the dead?

It's actually straightforward neurobiology, what happens to the brain when deprived of oxygen. The conditions can be created pharmaceutically as well. That's why the experiences are common, it's just biology.

So the brain experiences something unique during that time. When consciousness returns, the brain then does its best to interpret those experiences. Ever hear a noise and try to figure out what it was, same basic thing.

Anyone who has an image of what the afterlife is like, or the transition to it, will use that image to interpret those experiences. The sensory experiences are real, but not necessarily the interpretations.

Because the bible is wrong about that, like it is so many other things. There are two real sources of holy truth, and neither expresses itself to us in words. One is the universe around us, which is a manifestation of the underlying divine essence. The other is the universe within us, passed down from our ancestors as instinct, emotion, innate predispositions, and perhaps even genetic memory. By combining these sources of internal and external wisdom with the literature left us by our ancestors, we arrive at religious truths. This living spiritual guidance is better than any dusty, dogmatic "holy book", whose writings are often so ambiguous that even clerical scholars disagree and whose interpretations change with the politics of the times.

Because the mind, in conjunction with what's left of the brain's functions helps fire up all kinds of images. Ignorance, grasping and attachments or aversions to the images are what leads to how they're perceived and dealt with in what we Buddhists call the "bardo" (in-betweenish state between death and rebirth). If you cultivate a mind free of such grasping and attachments or aversions in this precious human life you can work at better rebirth or getting over samsaric existence all together... "suffering".

You can talk to demons who impersonate dead people. The body goes through some dramatic changes as it begins to shut down,and they are open to misinterpretation. Satan is good at misleading people.
