breaking a man made law is not a sin unless it coincides or is similar to one of God's laws. For example, speeding. Speeding, in itself (going fast in a car), is not a sin. However, if you are putting someone's life in danger by speeding, then you might be hovering on the edge of sinning, especially if you do in fact injure/kill someone. But if you are capable of speeding and not hurting anyone in the process, then it is not a sin. All in all, one must try to line up man made laws to the Laws of Moses.

I think that it is justified in the mind of men because it is other men that make these laws. In most cases these laws are passed without even asking the people that pay their salaries. It doesn't make speeding right, or breaking laws ok, but it is how most justify it.

I don't think breaking the law of our government is a sin. I think a sin is breaking a law Jesus made. In the Ten Commandments it doesn't say "Thou shalt not speed". Government law is so much different than the laws of Christ. I don't know why you would think they were similar.

I think a lot of Christians don't connect speeding with sinning. It's the bigger ones, you know, homosexuality and premarital sex that they're concerned with. You don't see a lot of Christians walking around with bracelets that say "How Would Jesus Drive?" or "Promise Rings" promising not to go 75 in a 55.

They can't justify it. Speeding is a sin if breaking the law is sin.

I am a Christian.

we are all held accountable for our actions whether is against God or the law of the land.
The only good reason a Christian have in breaking a law of the land is that if this law interferes with their serving there God.

That means I'm a "sinner" then. I sinned a minimum of two times last year. Dag - I'm doing good!
People can read anything they want to into situations. Some can find "sin" in making a bologna sandwich. This doesn't necessarily make it a sin now, does it?

Then yes. Speeding is a sin, and I don't justify it because I don't do it!
