And don't answer "because it says so" because that's circular reasoning. Don't say "because it's the word of god" because that gets back to "because it says" so. I don't want you to disprove an example, I want to know why you assume there are none.

Look, if you are a smart person, you can make ANY contradiction work. You just stretch the meaning, interpret, give meaning where none exists, postulate plausible reasons or say it's outside of human logic. At some point you have to wonder why you need to try so hard for some of these contradictions.

I have read and studied it through and through and what I say is although at first glance one might think there are contradictionms in fact I have spent weeks of contemplation with study groupes over what a cursury reading appeared to be a contradiction but never found anything worth even a foot note in comparison to the truth the Book holds. There were little things like the report of one that a war mission was complete and later another mentions it continued but these are things clearly just observations on the same time and place like two people who saw the same accident. They report different things but the inspiration for their report of the same inspiration, namelty the actual accident. I have seen movies with more contxetual errors that most everybody misses such as wet pits and in the next seen dry pits or a disappear cigaret, things that clearly do not detract from the message.

If a person is in tune with the inspiration there are no contradictions worth mentioning becuz the context becomes clear and it all fits. These like yourself who ask these questions perhaps for the purpose of shaking someone who is in tune with the creator are laughable but I ask you to keep it up becuz for those who are not in tune and say they are Christians arte in their mode of living are a disgrace to well pretty much everyone, believer and non believer, and well, they need to be shaken up and either get in tune or stop saying they are Christians.

So I do not assume I know.

I like your question, because it shows logical thinking and not just emotions against the Bible.

Let me bring up two points as to why I believe the Bible (and God).

1st - on the Spiritual side, the Bible says God promised His followers the gift of the Holy Ghost with power. If you go to some Pentecostal and Apostolic churches (there are other individual churches in other denominations also) you will see some people there who "speak in tongues" just as the Bible says (this is the most common gift), you might also "interpret" a message spoken in tongues, healing, and prophecies. Have them lay hands on you and pray for you, that you may know that God is real (or that you may be healed or receive a prophecy).

2nd - on the physical side, God has told us several things about how the earth was several thousand years ago. Evolution says that man came millions of years after the dinosaurs, but there are places where there are human and dinosaur footprints in the same rock. Also there are many human artifacts found in rock strata that is older than dinosaurs (according to the theory of evolution).

I hope this is what you were looking for.

Hi Meat,

This is good! You are now at the basis of your point of argument. At least you are on a line of processing that may provide stimuli that could aid in your processing if nothing else.
By the way, the bible having no contradictions is not a Christian tenant of Faith.

Input: The bible as a collection of writings of men although prophets of God, having been passed down through generations and having been translated by other men with varied interest and understanding may very well have contradictions in its current form, in fact it would be hard to fathom that at the hands of men it wouldn't.
Stop. Process.

It is possible though that what you are really interested in is not the failings of men but the consistency of the Word of God. No, the Word of God is not contradictory. He is Omnipotent, perfect, and has made our way sure. As men we have failings and are often contradictory. Take many of your questions for example. While you proclaim to not be a conscious rational being, many others, who proclaim awareness are not much more enlightened. Hence yes there are contradictions at the hand of all men in our temporal state.

Let me give you a line from one of my favorite prophets, It was given in answer to a query on his knowlege of God:

And I said unto him: I know that he loveth his children; nevertheless I do not know the meaning of all things.

We love you Meat!

To each its own. If you personally believe that the bible has contradictions then that is your own personal belief that you are entitled to, which by the way was given to you from God, ie. Freewill. It's not for "MAN" to test the validity of God's word, which is HIM to begin with. Humans use such a small percentage of their brain, therefore it is inconceivable for man to fully comprehend God's word. If you ponder on something long enough your mind can manifest many different ideals about Christianity. What happened to faith..."Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see" Hebrews 11:1

How many people are there who doubt the validity of the word of God and Christianity as a whole has read all of the Bible? And after such accomplishment were they able to comprehend everything they read without question or guidance from someone else. I'm speaking of non-believers. Because I assume that someone that would dispute the validity of the word of God is someone who has read the whole bible.

This is a moot point with Christians. Let me explain. We see the Bible as the inspired word of GOD. There is no room for debate. This sounds real arrogant and I once thought this was insaine when I was an Atheist. When I decided that Jesus was for real and religion was flawed I came home to Christ. Then something real weird happened. All the contradicting verses I used to quote to Christians and never got an answer for suddenly made perfect sense. It is just another real weird and creepy thing that happens when you become a member of the Kingdom Of GOD.

There are viable and intellectually plausible answers to every supposed Bible contradiction and error. There are books and websites available that list “all the errors in the Bible.” Most people simply get their ammunition from these places – they do not find supposed errors on their own. There are also books and websites available that refute each and every last one of these supposed errors. The saddest thing is that most people who attack the Bible are not truly interested in an answer – all they want to do is attack. Many "Bible attackers" are even aware of the answers, but they continue to use the same old shallow attacks again and again.

I don't "assume there are none". I have found much truth in Scriptures, so I am inclined to think that what a man sees as a "contradiction" is rather his misinterpretation. There are some places where (I am convinced) men with misunderstanding have mistranslated words to try to present what they thought to be true (which actually is not). That certainly gives the appearance of a contradiction.

Ok, the Word of God is more complicated than a novel, or a series of books.
The Bible, is Jewish. you have to understand a lot of Jewish concepts to understand the Bible. We will never actually understand the Bible fully, God is God, and He doesn't have to tell us everything. Thats what faith is, if we knew it was true because of all the "facts" than there would be no faith, everyone would believe it. God is omnipotent, and capable of everything, He created us and there is no reason why he can't create things outside of our understanding.
There are no contradictions in the Bible, people love to take the Bible out of context and then they create contradictions.

THANK GOD FOR HIS WORD AND ANY ERRORS BY IMPERFECT HUMANS IN IT

With 1110 years in the writing of languages that must be translated and in the hands of imperfect sinful men from done at 443 before Christ, and only God knows where to KJV Bible 1611 published after Christ [ 3164 years and thank you God for the errors that I can figure out and get straight as I need this history on imperfect mankind ]. with 303 years to 1914 after Christ and the world has an excepted translation by law of man and God.

Dan.8:12-14 2300 after Babylon Empire #3 ends kings, plus circulation of God's Word of truth for 300 years is 2600 after Babylon Empire #3, we are now 2613 years after
and know THERE WILL BE NO KING UNTIL KING JESUS AT HIS SECOND COMING.

Satan was to have been cast out of heaven 2520 years after Babylon Empire #3, to end world Empire #7, the world to have an excepted translation, SATAN TO HAVE A SHORT TIME IN THE END TIMES.

Just thought I'd add this-theres a person out there(I forget his name, check the book "The book the Church doesn't want you to read")where he offers a cash prize(I believe it's a a few thousand dollars) to anyone to use the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and explain, WITHOUT EXCLUSION of any fact, Christ's execution and rebirth. Apparently the 4 versions contradict and change from one another.
