My spouse has 4 sisters.I call them my outlaws lol. One of them was at rock bottom this summer when she split from her fiance, so I took her and her 3 kids into our home which was hard for my kids and spouse(doesnt like living with family) We re-arranged our whole routine for them. I watched her kids everyday free of charge.had supper on the table when she came home, Made sure her kids were fed, cleaned and happy.which was her job but oh well, didnt charge her anything for rent.just alittle food money and made sure knowone ever got bored. The problem I have is with the mother.Lots and lots of problems went on.The biggest one was was she ended up moving outta town to be with another man. Well she forgot about someone, one of her sons, she sent him to live with his dad which lives on main St.In a grungy hotel with no stove,1 bed,(hooker valley) I now take him once a month. She calls and brags bout her 4 bed. house etc.My Q is..should I step in and say something I feel so bad:(Ilovethoseboys)

YES!!!! I I was you I would totally say something. That is sooo not right. First off why did she leave him behind? Actually I dont care becuause she shouldn't have left him behind. After all you and your family did for her shame on her. I think that is terrible to leave one of your children behind! If I knew her I would yell at her. I think that you should definitely step in and do something weather or not it is adopting the boy getting part custody or just having him live with you because it sounds like you love him very much and if you didn't then you wouldn't have poasted this question. DO SOMETHING NOW!!!
Good luck sweety on what ever you deside to do..

I would call social services for sure. It sounds like this child needs someone to stand up for him. If the father is wanting to keep this child, then he needs to find better living arrangements. I'm not saying that the father is a bad parent, just some changes need to occur. That mother, well, I'll be nice and not even start on what I think of her. I will say this, she needs to sign this wonderful child off and be done with it. She isn't worthy of him.
If calling social services isn't a option(I can't see social services allowing a child to live in that kind of enviroment personally), then offer to take this child in and care for him until proper arragements can be made. Good luck!

No, butt out. She has moved on to her next free ride and she isn't interested in what you have to say.
It doesn't matter where you live, as long as the parent loves you and looks after you.
She apparently isn't great mother material, by her own choice, she flops where she can and moves on when a better opportunity comes along.
You will not make a difference, save your breath.
The son she left behind is probably luckier than the other children.
He has a stable aunt near by that he can talk to and see, the others are in her clutches, and probably no where near any role model.
Keep doing what you are doing for the boy. You can't save the world or everyones children.
Be there for him, that is the very best you can do.

Tell her to stop bragging, neither you or her son are impressed. Self flattery will get her no where.

You should have done so a long time ago, i would report her to social services on child neglect and abuse, she does not deserve that boy and where he is, not a good place. SO Call NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
