I just had my fingerprints taken for the work permit (temporary - I'll be waiting for the Green Card interview to be scheduled). I should be getting my permit in the mail within the next 4 weeks. Does anyone know for how long are they granted? I won't know the date of interview for next few months, but it should cover the period of time till then? I won't probably get GC till the end of July or August...

usually they are good for 1 yr, but depending in the case, they can be up to 3 yrs. Just make sure to apply for a renovation if GC doesn't come soon.
Your drivers license will expire together with the permit, be aware.

work permits are normally good for 1 yr...you will see that when your work permit arrives....if you dont get ur GC at least 2-3 months prior to the expiration of your work permit...you should apply for another work permit while your GC is still pending...i think the annual renewal of work permit is around $175.00...but hopefully you will get your GC before that....good luck
