In early days of religion sex was viewed as a vehicle to God. It was a spiritual act which male/female could experience God. It was said that man was not complete until he had carnal knowledge of the female being which was considered secret because woman held the power to create human life. Sex was mans bridge from earth to heaven.
Example: Jewish (but most religions believed this) (not time period to quote)
Back in the old days (long, long ago) men use to go to Jewish temple to have sex with priestesses in order to experience orgasm. Churches began to see that sex was the major force in people lives as means to reach God so they completely changed the logic behind sex and demonized it so people would start seeing the church as the major vehicle to God and not sex.
Wrong Info below:
In the DeVinci code the members of the priory of sion had a ritual to have sex because they believe through orgasm they could reach/see God.
It was also written like that in the book. There is also a reference I once read about Opus Dei, I think it was along the same lines as above but can't quote where I read it.
Although I believe these acts are not reflective of a religion and more reflective of the practices of the group.
So to be clear of my answer, as I know it no religion believe that Sex is the Vehicle to God. Yes God created sex to reproduce but he never said this act is the way to me.... God is said/thought to be in all of us and the only question for each of us is finding how to recognize him/ bring him out?
Some say that when orgasm-ing time and space come to a standstill for a few milliseconds and some say in that time they are so in tune with themselves they feel divinely at peach as if they were one with God. But that is a purely personal opinion and no matter what your religious practice is can not be replicated or learned to another......

In my studies Hindus were said to have an area where sex was exhausted as a sort of study area as a physical life study which one indulged untill they realised this was not really all that it at first seemed.. Aslo tantric Buddhism takes one deeply into a satisfying sexual experience.
As for me marrying a sex addict seems to have resulted in some spiritual growth a sometimes spitiual experience, in that I got so tired I am sure I existed only in the spiritual realm

There is a sect of Hinduism, the Tantric, which uses sex as a form of meditation and as tool for achieving spiritual Ecstasy. I understand there is a related discipline among the Buddhists, but I don't, off hand, know what it's called.

A god of sex would be purely an earthly carnal god. Maybe the same religion that thinks and teaches that a murderer will get a number of virgins to serve him eternally. They must not think much of the female sex, unless it is to satisfy thier earthly desires. I don't know why more females arn't speaking out against this perverted doctrine.

I don't know of any such religions, but Tantra does use everything in life as practices to God.
In the west, the sex aspect of Tantra tends to be focused upon - but the philosophy is that sex is part of life so use that also for spiritual development and your way to God.

The Karma Sutra teaches divine union through sexuality. It derived through the rituals of tantric Hinduism (sometimes called the "left hand" thread of Hinduism).
If you have ever had a transcendental experience where you and your sex partner totally become one you will understand the importance of this philosophy.

There were some interesting cults that sprouted up during the 60s and 70s that had these ideas. Couldn't tell you the name though! I saw it on 60 Minutes. It was a special with survivors talking it was one of those sob stories for ratings. Maybe someone else knows.

Tantric Yoga comes to mind, although the Knights Templar were accused of believing something like that.

None really explicitly says that but the Rajneesh cult in India believes in free sex as a path to spirituality. Look them up.
