dissatisfaction with life, pain and suffering causes depression. It can also be an inherited disorder, which is something you have no control over.
I was depressed for many months due to health issues, but I realised that it was not worth being depressed about and that there is much more to look forward to in my life, and I didnt want to throw that away just because of that. Depression is like being trapped in a horrible prison.
There is no cure for depression really, you will get over it when you feel you are ready, when you realise that you are the one that has constructed the prison around you and that you are the only one that can set yourself free from it. This is only when you learn that you are worth the effort.
There are people ready to help you like your friends and family but you must be willing to make the effort also. Find some other meaning in life.
Anti-depressants may help but you must get to the root of your depression otherwise you will never get over it and even worse end up hooked on anti-depressants.
Good luck.

i don't know the cure but i do some things to ease depression. i went through it not that long ago and i'm going through a small depression mode right now too. depression, i beleive, is cause by a number of things. it can be cause by a chemical inbalance in the brain. it can be cause like lack of a healthy diet. it can be cause by bd memories (i think). it's cause by a number of different things. mine right now is caused by massive stress about my school work and it's also form my lack of eating healthy. the cure....eating the right food and plenty of water and other healthy drinks. i am not a health freak at all, but i do know that examining your lifestyle and maybe altering a few things can help immensly. it did with me. all you have to do, is take a deep breath, think about what in your life is possibly making you depressed. ponder for a while and try to come up with a solution to either ease or diminish you depression. it may not be easy, but a little effort and pondering can go a long way.

There are many causes of depression and many cures. First of all, it is important to understand the clinical definition of depression. Of course we all have bad days, but depression is typically a long-term issue. There are several causes of depression. It may be caused by a large event that took place in your life that has stressed you out and caused you to become depressed (Adjustment Disorder). There is also seasonal depression (SAD). Then there is manic-depressive disorder, which is depression mixed by countering episodes of mania. Stress also can induce depression. Once you determine the cause of your depression, you can then begin treatment. Treatment for depression can be as simple as speaking to a close friend about the things that are causing you stress and to be depressed, it can also be as complicated as taking medications prescribed by a healthcare provider, and receiving regular therapy. If you are experiencing depression, it is important that you speak to your primary care physician or a mental health professional right away.

Anything can cause depression, it just depends on the person. Not sure that there is a cure. The drugs that are used to treat people with this is way over rated! Try a hot bath, or a stiff drink!

Things to remember in Depression are:-
"Laughter, the best medicine"- Easier said than done. One has to try and talk as much as possible before one can graduate to laughing.
Occupational therapy- Try and do and totally get absorbed (as in meditation) in a thing of your interest where you lose awareness of space and time.
Doing something for others- This may not be possible in severe depression but sometimes helping others helps oneself.
Reading spiritual/management books can be elevating.
Depression often happens because of chemical imbalance in the brain. This can be checked by doing yoga and meditation regularly.
For things like bi-polar depression or SAD, one has to take specific medicine.
For long term and lasting freedom from depression, one should tackle the root cause and try to remove it permanantly instead of dealing only with the symptoms.

Over the last five years I had begun to have increasingly withdraw into a downward spiral of depression..
But now with the method I can fully focus my energy and thoughts into a decisive line on how to make my life better constantly. And it works like magic! I'm beginning to attract people to me once again and things have just been looking up since then.

depression is different in everyone and the cause is also different. a death, school problems, family problems, anything that would cause someone to be upset. when your upset the brain goes into overload and that is depression.
Depression in when you are constantly upset and dont laugh. the bad thing is a person who is depressed doesn't know that they are depressed. i think the cure would be to talk to a physicologist or someone that will hellp you. and just talking about your problems really helps. so take it frome someone who has been through hell and back, talking is hard but in the end it really works.

I think the cause of depression is being stressed out and unfit in doing things. Having one may cause mild to extreme sadness, lonelyness and despair. For me, it's cure is just being healthy in any ways not only physically but also mentally, emotionally, spiritually and psychologically.

Depression is not quite simply so cut and dry. It is caused by many different things from lifestyle to hormones. For me depression was caused because of my ex-fiancee. As far as solving them? Well, depression is a trivial thing. It's for the weak. The only way to beat depression to become strong enough to be happy with yourself. If you can't be happy with just yourself then you'll always be depressed.

hey...
ive been suffereing with depression for almost 20 years now and trust me, it hasnt been no easy ride.
depression is a chemical embalance in your brain. meaning, some things just dont trigger the right way.
what might make one person really happy and ecstatic makes you angry and ready to bite someones head off
unfortunately, there is no cure for depression. it is inherited and is stuck with you for the rest of your life.
however, there are thee guys called psychiatrists out there. contrary to popular belief, they do help.
go see one and talk to them.....
if they prescribe medication, take it.. and take it as instructed, not like how you want to...
it wont help cure the problem, but it sure makes life a lot less bumpier road...
GOOD LUCK.....
if ya wanna chat or talk, please send me an email...
