i used to do this when i played everquest. I'd get in a good grind and play for hours and hours. I'm a smoker, and I have to go outside to smoke so that helped. every hour i'd go out into the cold and it would wake me up a bit. staying awake while playing a video game is hard, because even though your mind and hands are busy, you're just sitting down, reclining, laying, and your heartbeat goes way down. I'd say, every hour, make sure you stand up and walk around a little. get that blood flowing. try to hold off on the coffee as long as you can. because caffeine has a drawback effect. after you get high from it, you can crash off it. same with redbull. I've never tried it but i've seen commercials for 5 hour energy drinks. you should stay away from no-doze because it can become habit forming and can mess up your stomache pretty bad. it's happened to me. bottom line is whenever you start crashing, stand up and walk a bit. maybe do some pushups or jumping jacks. don't do sit ups if you're drinking lots of coffee. that's just cruelty to your tummy

First of all, staying awake is easier if you've already conditioned yourself to do so. I work nights, so my body is conditioned (more or less) on a weekly cycle, and there is at least one day of the week in which I stay awake for about 22 hours, every week. Just like taking a few practice breaths before a deep dive, you might want to have a few late nights interspersed with early bedtimes over a period of about a week beforehand, for practice.

Second, you MUST sleep for longer than usual before your marathon. If you go into this thing with only six hours of sleep, you are going to crash somewhere between eight and twelve hours.

Third, do NOT take any stimulants (coffee, red bull whatever) until you reach specific points in your marathon. The first point is when you hit the "wall," that is, the point at which your body is used to falling asleep and tries to despite all your mental commands to stay awake. At that point, take a short break from the game, eat some food that is nutritious and high in carbohydrates and protein, and then ingest a stimulant of some sort.

Do NOT try to do this without taking breaks for eating, bathing, etc. Without sleep, these things are important, as they will compensate to keep you awake, alert, and most importantly, healthy!

Good luck!

Okay, here is what you need to do. start out by eating VERY healthy. eat a good breakfast, pancakes, eggs, whatever. Then, eat a good healthy lunch, sub sandwich, with some fruit and milk. Then, eat a good healthy dinner. Spaghetti, lasagna, with bread, steak and potatoes, something like that.
That should give you some healthy energy. Then, when you feel like you can't last any longer, take some no-doze, or energy drinks. That is when you can start taking the sugar. Step outside for 2 or 3 minutes, or take a cool shower.
If you start with the junk food too early, you will crash. It will also make your stomach sick if you take too much of the junk food at the beginning.

P.S. don't forget celery sticks and carrots, peanut butter too.

Becareful loading up on caffine it can make you sick (throw up) Also becareful on loading up on the softdrinks and energy drinks you dont want to have to pee 50 times. It isnt too hard to stary up if youre occupied so i would just say keep a couple sodas and snacks near by and if you stay interested enough in your game youwont get taht tired anyway. Maybe consider taking a couple short cat naps to help refresh yourself. (Dont know if that would be possible with your game)

I like to snort Ritalin and drink the occasional red bull. I painted all my kitchen cabinents (inside and out) one night on Ritalin and redbull. And, without the nasty come down that you can get with loads of caffine or cocaine.

A coffee IV? LOL I dunno man. Good luck. Lots of caffeine, energy drinks and sugar I guess. My cousin swears by that no-doze stuff. I've never tried it though. I like my sleep. :)
