I am asking because I chose to go with them for my dresses because the ones I like the best were there but my service has been MUCH less then steller. All my friends that also have used them or been in a wedding that used David's were unhappy with the service too. So I want to see if its just us or if the service at David's Bridal just sucks. Thanks for all your feedback!

It completely depends on which one you go to. Some are HORRIBLE, some are great.

Mine is hit and miss. I have a saleswoman that I prefer to deal with, but she's rarely there, and when she's not, the other girls are judgemental, rude, and love ignoring customers.

My advice is check out your local board on TheKnot.com. Post asking for opinions about the local David's.

I guess the store here is run under good management or something, because my experience was great. I made an appointment for a Wednesday night about a month ago. When I arrived, I was greeted and they asked me to fill out a paper and then asked me questions about my wedding, where it was, informal/formal, etc. After that, they introduced me to my consultant, who then helped me pick a few pairs of shoes to try the dresses on with. She then gave me a longline bra to use with the dresses, and then picked out a bunch of dresses that I had circled in the catalog as well as a few others that she thought I'd like. My consultant was fantastic. Every dress she picked out fit me, was exactly what I had told her, and she even pulled out matching jewelery, veils and tiaras for EVERY dress. She was there next to me the whole time I was there. All of the other associates in David's Bridal would walk over and compliment me, ask me if I needed any water, made sure I had all the help I needed. In the end, I spent almost 3 hours trying on dresses and found my dress, tiara, veil, shoes, and bra. My maid of honor also got her dress and shoes. I'm glad I shopped at David's Bridal, because they treated me very well. I'm sorry everyone else had such horrible experiences. I also live in a nicer area of California, so maybe that also had something to do with it?

I bought a formal gown at David's Bridal and when I first went in there I got an additude because I didn't make an appointment.

Somebody I know bought her 2 piece wedding dress from DB. The top had all this embroidered detailing by the back zipper. They had to send it back twice because the wrong size top was sent and when it came back the third time it was still wrong and it was too late to have it replaced so it had to be altered. They said that the only way they could make it fit was to take it in at the zipper therefore taking off the detail. She was so upset that she ran to the parking lot and cried. The woman who owned the small bridal shop next to DB came out to see what was wrong and told the girl that she could take the dress in at the sides and save the detail in back. She didn't even charge her for the alterations!

DB likes to do things that are the easiest for them regardless of how it will make the dress look.

I think they are HORRIBLE. My friend found a really good dress there that looked good on her, BUT overall the material was cheap and the dress isn't well made. The place is usually dirty. And the service people have no class what so ever. I thought I was going to have to go into a fancy bridal shop to find a dress... I did and it was 3500! Yikes. Then I went online to www.houseofbrides.com. Never had to speak to one person, all online and the dress is beautiful! Well made, I checked the material seams and everything. It was only $520!!!!! Now I am going to a personal tailor for alterations and it is like 1/4 the price of alterations at D.B. for alterations. Only 20 bucks! I saved soo much money...

I bought my dress and 6 bridesmaids dresses at David's. I also am getting the tuxes at Afterhours. I have been somewhat disappointed with the services. I have had a different consultant everytime I went. There was confusion because 1 of the dresses was supposed to be shipped and they gave me attitude about it when shipping had already been paid for. I would say however, you pay for what you get. They do have some pretty good pricing and it's not a very glamourous dress shop. I haven't gone down the alteration route yet....hopefully it gets better. So it's not just you, they need some customer service help!

I hated David's Bridal. The one near me made it sound like you MUST have an appointment to come in. So, I made and appointment on a week day and they only had one consultant there. They were only giving one appointment per 30 minutes so that the consultant would be able to help you. When I got there, there were 4 other girls trying dresses on and NO ONE would help me. I was really mad because I actually HAD an appointment. I ended up having my two girlfriends help me try dresses on and the consultant got snippy with them because they weren't hanging the dresses back up the right way. I will never go back there and I won't recommend them to anyone. It's a shame too because they do have pretty dresses!

Their service does suck, I went to buy a wedding gown and the woman left me standing there in a gown for 40 minutes to hang out and b.s., needless to say I didn't buy my gown there. You can go to other bridal boutiques and you'll be surprised that not every couture shop is expensive. I went to a couture shop and found my gown, which was elabrolately beaded for $1100, and their tailoring was the same cost as David's. If you want to ensure that you can trust someone stay away from David's. Not for nothing but they almost ruined my friend's gown right before her wedding day. Most places have the same dresses, just look up the designer and call around and see who has the gowns you like best.

Good luck.

I had a wonderful experience with David's Bridal. I didn't have an appointment and I was able to talk with a sales consultant right away. I didn't have to wait for anything. The sales consultant that I worked with spent time with me and helping me out in several ways. I was able to find the perfect dress and I am planning on going back to them to get my Brides Maid dresses. They took the time to answer any questions and try different styles of dresses. They even brought other dresses for me to try on in order to compare styles that I hadn't tried before. I was even able to find the perfect dress and get a discount on the dress. They gave me coupons and other discounts for me to use and my bridesmaids. Also, I was able to get free airline tickets for a honeymoon by getting my dress through them. I honestly think it depends on where you're at what kind of service you get. I have talked with other people around my area and they have not had any problems with David's and have actually recommended it to other people. I have done the same thing due to the great service and attention I got. It was defiantly better than all the other stores I visited to look for a dress.

I got my dress at David's Bridal....I didn't want to because I had heard all of the horror stories from others. The only reason I bought one there is because it was the dress I really wanted and couldn't find one anywhere else. They size is too big, but nothing that the lady doing my alterations can't fix. I think of David's as the fast food of bridal shops, they just want to ship you in and out without putting much effort into it.

I seem to be in the minority, but I actually liked the service I got at David's Bridal. The saleswoman I worked with was wonderful. She was honest about what styles would look good, etc. And she ran around like a crazy woman trying to find me a veil. I can't complain about the service I received. My sister bought her dress and we bought the bridesmaid dresses there just last weekend and they were wonderful. But we always use the same saleswoman....so maybe that's the key. Find someone nice and helpful and stick with her.

Congrats and best wishes!

I liked my David's Bridal overall. There were high points, because they were very attentive & did the running around for me. They, of course, are in sales so that annoyed me. The girl was very nice & helpful, but she was pushy & it took me 15 minutes to firmly explain I didn't want a blusher (veil over the face) & then 10 minutes to explain I rather pay to get the dress altered (hem taken up) instead of wearing the 3 inch heels she wanted me to buy & wear. But still, I liked her & the service.

The really annoying point was I bought my dress in September & put it in layaway for a couple weeks. I'm getting married in March, it was altered in December. I was told when I bought the dress that I could leave it there until after it was altered. Well, when I went to pay the balance they insisted that I take the dress & claimed they didn't hold dresses. No big deal, but I didn't like being told different things.
