My husband and I were thinking of going to a Methodist church, because we are not very happy with the Christian one we've gone to and I just wanted some information to help us decide. Thanks in advance for any help!

All Methodist Churches are Christian. But as with any individual denomination within Christianity, certain rituals or scriptures are focused upon.

As the name suggests, there is a "method" in attaining eternal life, or a formula, if you will.

Methodist churches are Christian.
Only some Christian churches are Methodist.

Good luck with your search. And while you are searching, check out a church's website if they have one, and check the internet for more information of Methodists.

I believe what everyone was trying to tell you is, that you are looking into following Methodist views & teachings instead of "Christian"; however, Methodists are just a Protestant denomination of Christianity.

You should probably do a little research first, into the Methodist denomination and Christianity before you go running off to convert. Especially since you did say "we are not happy with the Christian one we've gone to"....Methodists ARE Christian, therefore, is it possible that you are looking for a non-Christian religion altogether? it is possible what you really mean is "we are not happy with the particular denomination of Christianity that we've gone to"?

Methodist is a denomination under the umbrella of christianity. They follow the Wesylian side of theology, that is, Arminianism.

Whereas a lot of Baptist churches are Calvinistic.

Personally, I'd stay away from mainstream denominations. Too much emphasis placed on the doctrines of men instead of God.

A good test would be to walk into a church wearing jeans and a t-shirt. Bring a beer too. See what their reactions are. It will tell you a lot.

Methodist are christian originally they were against drinking alcohol and had their own clear set rule but now I feel most denominations differ little but the churches do. some are friendly and others more aloof depending on the preacher and members. its certainly worth a try.

Methodists are a christian church. They follow the same as all the others. Just the strict level is lower. They are like Lutherans, protestants, catholics, baptists, episcopaleans, etc....

Methodist Churches are denominational churches.

They have some doctrines that are not in line with Scripture. Maybe you should try a Bible Fellowship, or a Church of Christ.

If you have more specific questions...you can IM me.

You need to be born again to have the guidance of the holy spirit to teach you the things of God what ever church you go to if you are all in the same spirit and born again then you will be blessed because the Lord said where two or three of you are gathered in my name I will be with you.
