If Satan wants us to rely on ourselves and act like gods, then surely he'd be against love too because it makes people depend on others and act with consideration. So doesn't this mean that athiests who love are fighting Satan?

It's not nonsensical purleeze!
I'm getting at, does love overpower dark regardless of your beliefs. Should the power of love be recognised in it's own right?

Well first of all if you know what an atheist is it is a person who doesn´t believe in God. It can be any deity or designer. Without the belief in God it would be logically impossible to believe in Satan. Concerning love it is part of the human condition. Everyone loves including all athiests and members of all religions. If you think that because you love anyone you are fighting a fictional creation such as Satan that may be your delusion. But to assert that `athiests who love´ inadvertently or even directly fight an imaginary old wives tale is preposterous.

Would you be willing to talk about this in non-Christian language then? Most atheists are quite ethical and place a great deal of importance on treating other people respectfully (which is very different from irreverence, mind you). If it makes you feel better to see us as 'fighting Satan', then it's a vast improvement over the multitudes of Christians who just can't imagine a sense of ethics independent of hellfire and damnation.
But most atheists, especially the ones on this forum, would be more likely to sit Mr Satan down, give him a cup of coffee and discuss things for a few hours. Who knows, we might even convert him to playing nice.

Trying to put myself at your perspective, if Satan existed (which he doesn't), yes, but we would be doing it subconsciously and we wouldn't realize that was what we were doing. We would just think we were fighting hate and evil (the symbols of Satan).
-Not all Atheists are loving good people, just most of them. Like not all Christians are loving good people, just most of them.
-No because Satan does not exist. I say this as an Atheist.

If we agreed that satan is a metaphor then yes the atheists who champion the message of love would be fighting evil,
in saying this im disagreeing with many of the above atheists, but atheists disagreeing nothing wrong with that

I suppose that according to Christian myth you're right.
Of course, by that definition, virtually all of humanity is "fighting Satan. Many Christians won't accept that notion because of the Exclusivity Doctrine.

For you to assume what Satan wants must mean you think you're like a god. How could you know what a supernatural being wants unless you're also supernatural?
I quit fighting Satan since he helps with half the rent.

Since I am an atheist and I do not believe in any kind of god(s), demons, spirits, and the like, I would have to say NO to your question. How can we fight something we know does not exist?

Well, if it makes people feel better about us (and be nicer) then, sure. If you think anyone who loves is fighting Satan then we are, to you.

Atheists don't believe in Satan. If you DO believe in Satan, (either as Satanist or God based religion) then you would say that Atheists are doing Satan's work in espousing disbelief of God.
