I am on a mission to lose the weight I am 6’ 5” and weigh in at 275lbs. looking online that’s about 30 pounds in obesity and I am sick of looking like this. So I am on my way to losing the weight wanted to know though a couple of things.

1. How many calories do I need to burn a day to lose the weight?
2. Is their a watch or counter that can help monitor how much I actually burned working out?
3. I don’t have a gym membership and probably because I am to un-confident in going I told myself after I lose 25 pounds then I would get a membership is their any suggestions for things I can get at the store to work out at home. (I have a jump rope, boxing bag, weights BUT NO BENCH, crappie stair stepper and a dog)

Pleas anything you guys can suggest would be greatly appreciated.

I would go here. Find out how many calories you eat a day. My guess is about 3500. You should probably try to eat 700 calories less than that a day. So yeah, you have to start counting calories. Drink water and no pop. Don't get discouraged, you will see a loss within a month. Also, for exercise, if you are no comfortable at a gym, do the jump rope. Try to go as long as you can. Don't exceed 20 minutes of it though. Try punching the boxing bag for about 30 minutes too. Good strength in that. And do sit ups and push ups at home. You need muscle. Muscle cuts down fat while you sleep. Good luck and stick with it!!

Walk your dog!

When my dog died :( I gained 10-12 lbs. pretty quickly, and the only thing that changed were the walks he and I would take... Not only does it burn fat, it gets you out of the house and away form the fridge & cupboard!

Good luck. And join the gym today! No way you're gonna lose 25 lbs. at home...

As far as questions 1 & 2: 3500 kcal = 1 lb. and get a heart rate monitor to keep track of how you're doing...

you need to burn 3500 to lose 1 lb.you should go to the gym it doesn't matter how much you weight your there for your self NOT for others so forget about what people have to say...there's big people at the gym I b/c I am one of them sometimes it hard but like I said I'm not there for anybody but me I lost 24 lbs I was 207lb go to my yahoo360 page and I'm always `talking about it ...and I know there's a heart monitor which will rate your heart and if you want to lose weight your heart has to go at a certain rate depending on your age
