They really can do some amazing cover ups. You need to go and get a professional to give you ideas on what can be done.

the average cover up has to be about 3 times the size of the original. You need to look for something with a lot of lines (eagles, koi fish, dragons) or bold dark colours (purples, greens ) to cover the ink up.BLACK WILL NOT COVER BLACK because the outlines are a different type of mark than the colouring. Putting tribal over anything will simply end up as a tribal with a visible outline in it of whatever you had before. Colours like reds and yellows are too transparent to cover with. Also black and grey will not cover your tattoo, it may camouflage it but essentially you will still see the original. Any artist who tries to tell you that you can only cover up with black is a lousy cover up artist. If in doubt ask to see examples of an artists cover up work.

it only has to be slightly bigger than the original but for the cover up to look as good as possible it should be quite a bit bigger than the original. do you have any idea of what you want to get? it's kindof hard to tell you when we haven't seen the original and don't know what you like. you could just get a bunch of roses maybe som deep purple and maroon ones or something.
