Oh my God, people some of you all that give responses back seem that you all dont have a heart I just want you to think a little and flip the situation a little what if you were the ones crossing the border and you are doing it with good intentions and all of the sudden a " red neck" bump in your way and kills you for no reason how would you feel if your own brother the same thing would happen to them? Have a little of humaty people dont agree on the killings of innocent people, that is preatty messed up u know, maybe the officer was under the influence of drugs or something because a person in his right mind dont do such things against a human being.

That's not what I hear from people who live at the borders. Illegal immigrants carry knives, guns, and all kinds of stuff, including drugs. They kill the cattle, steal the crops and generally do whatever they want, even trying to force people who live at the border to sponsor them.

I don't like to see people killed, but maybe if a few illegal immigrants are shot to death crossing the border, we will not have such a difficult time getting control of our borders and maybe the illegal aliens will learn that we mean business.

If he had stayed where he belonged (Mexico) he would be alive today. You don't fight with a cop. It was HIS fault that he was shot. The agent should get a medal.

Anyone that thinks that no illegal alien criminals carry guns should get their head examined.

Even the guy that got shot by the two border agents that are now in fed prison for filing bad paperwork (that's what the prosecutor said) had to have been carrying a gun even though they didn't find one on him. His family says he always carries a gun.

They are all criminals in my book. They are breaking the law so they are not "Illegal immigrants." I really hate that term because it is wrong!!!!!

Well before even clicking your link, I have to correct you.

Illegal immigrants DO carry guns. Whoever told you they don't is confused or a liar. They attack the border patrol with guns, sticks, rocks, anything they can find.

Edit: I can't say much about it because I don't know what really happened. The guy deserved to be taken into custody like the rest, but if he tried to attack the border patrol agent, the border patrol agent had a right to protect himself.

Key word illegal. You can not say that illegal immigrants don't carry guns. Do you ever watch the news they all have either a gun or a knife. GO BORDER PATROL

Justified. Fighting against an armed law enforcement officer, who also has 6 others to worry about, is asking to be shot. The officer, for his own safety, must keep control of the situation. Unfortunately, it meant having to kill the criminal.

But that's the risk you take if you break laws then decide to fight armed law-enforcement officers. Cause of death: criminal stupidity.

And just because they do not carry guns does not mean they will not harm or kill someone preventing them from entering this country.

Don't come here illegally and there would have been no shooting. BTW illegals do carry guns sometimes. Why was only one shot and the others apprehended, could it have been that he fought and the others had some respect for the agent who was doing his job.

I think that there is not enough information there to make a determination about what happened.

And as to your FYI...How do you explain THIS?:

Tuscon, Ariz. — National Guard troops working at an observatory post near the Mexican border were forced to flee after being approached by a group of armed individuals, authorities said.

The event occurred about 11 p.m. Wednesday at one of the National Guard entrance identification team posts near Sasabe, said National Guard Sgt. Edward Balaban.

He said the troops withdrew safely, no shots were fired and no one suffered injuries.

U.S. Border Patrol officials are investigating the incident and trying to determine who the armed people were, what they were doing and why they approached the post before retreating to Mexico.

The incident occurred in the west desert corridor between Nogales and Lukeville in the vicinity of Sasabe, Balaban said.

"We don't know exactly how many because obviously it took place in the dark," Balaban said. "Nobody was able to get an accurate count."

The Guard troops are not allowed to apprehend illegal entrants.

"We don't know if this was a matter of somebody coming up accidentally on the individuals, coming up intentionally on the individuals, or some sort of a diversion," said Rob Daniels, spokesman for the Border Patrol's Tucson Sector.

The west desert corridor has been the busiest in the Tucson Sector for marijuana seizures since last year.

Agents have seized 124,000 pounds of marijuana there since Oct. 1, Daniels said.

With more Border Patrol agents and National Guard troops patrolling the Arizona section of the U.S.-Mexican border, it has become more difficult to smuggle drugs and people across and "that heightened frustration may have been connected to what took place last night," Daniels said.

Officials will make a decision following the investigation about whether changes need to be made in regard to the entrance identification teams, Balaban said.

Since arriving in mid-June, the Guard has assisted the Border Patrol by manning control rooms, doing vehicle and helicopter maintenance, repairing roads and fences, constructing vehicle barriers and fences and spotting and reporting illegal entrants in entrance identification teams.

There are dozens of National Guard entrance identification teams along the Mexican border, including east and west of both Nogales and Sasabe and on the Tohono O'odham Nation.

The troops stand post on hilltops next to army-green tents and serve as extra eyes and ears for the Border Patrol.

i think its too bad for his family but his mother has no right to demand the death penalty especially when the border patrol agent was just doing his job...had the man not fought with him then he would have been aressted just like the other six men trying to cross the border with him. he is responsible for his own actions therefore he is responsible for his own death...

I think people get what they ask for. Had he not fought with the Border Patrol Agent, he would have been taken into custody like the other six people. He obviously had no respect for our laws by crossing and no respect for the agent's authority and the agent feared for his life and had every RIGHT to shoot him dead. He asked for it. He got it.

Americans get what they ask for as well. If we don't start loudly asking - rather - demanding action...things will get worse!
