she left me and for the last six months we have been talking on and off she calls me and says how she wants me back and then like a week later she don't want nothing to do with me. what should i do?

I think she is lonely and is playing you. I wouldn't count on getting back together. I believe that you can't go back after you have split.
There are always hard feelings and too much history.
I think if it gets to a place where you split, it is pretty well over. People are usually exs for a good reason.
As more time goes by, it is more difficult to get back together.
She is very emotional and makes irrational decisions and does them on the spur of the moment. I would be very careful with this, I believe you should heal and get over the relationship and let it go.
It sounds like she is wishy washy and doesn't know what she wants. This could be devastating for you if you try to get back together. I think you are better off without her.

Why did you two break up in the first place? Is she seeing someone else?? Sounds like maybe shes only interested when shes bored. Do that to her and see how she handles it! Ignore her calls for a couple of days, and see what happens. Maybe shes not that into working things out.

It sounds like she is playing with you, and using you for HER convenience. If nothing or no one better is around, you get a phone call. You should be worth more than that.

She seems insecure...and probably she doesn't love you too much....she knows that you are for her...every time she needs that.
But ask yourself...do you want her to treat you like that? do you have enough love to cover her insecurity....if yes then you should talk openly and make a decision.
