God believers expect Atheists to have all the answers to the most difficult questions (origin of life, ect.)

All God believers have to think is God created the world. No critical thinking or knowledge is required

If Atheists do anything wrong, God believers will claim it's because we dont have God in our lives

If God believers do something wrong, it's because nobody's perfect.

I would go further and say that Atheists are held to a higher standard than any God... Religious people blame "Satan" for bad things while giving "God" credit for good things; while Atheists have to account for all of their own actions, right or wrong...

Aren't you over reacting just a little? Who is holding you to a higher standard? The belief in God and the belief in no God are both beliefs. Neither has ever been proven, and I doubt either will ever be. At some point every individual needs to look at the facts and their experience in life and decide what to believe, or not believe in. I believe in science and I believe in God too. I don't really see a contradiction. Just because something cannot be proven scientifically doesn't rule out the possibility of it's existence. For example, does sadness exist? While most people have experienced it, I don't know how it could be proven. Yet we accept it because of the commonality of our experience. You are 'the highest standard' when it comes to your convictions. So who cares what anyone else thinks!

So true!

Its this insane fallacy they have that if they perceive the slightest chink in the armour of theory A, then theory B is brought in to explain it - (which it doesn't - 'god did it' tells you nothing!) thats like saying if a shape isnt a square, its a circle - why not a triangle? Or an octagon? Or an icosihenadon?

Its classic God of the Gaps. People like that are so ignorant its really not worth debating with them.

I should add, we atheists should be held to higher standard to god, most of us are morally superior and intellectually superior - I could design a better person with a more direct van deferens, I'd leave you the appendix, sort out the respiration and fix the spine - as for morals? Well - people who say 'god is good' cant have read the old testament.

If that is true-- I don't think they should be..
1. I don't expect anyone to have all the answers... some things are beyond our capacity to know.
2. It takes a lot more to have faith not too.
3. And, if anyone sins it is because they don't have God in their life. People that are Christian sin because they are pushing God out of their life.

What is a God Believer? Maybe it's you that is holding them to higher standards.

They're only held to higher standards by theists. Really everyone is born an atheist, there's no entry examination.

Also, atheists know that if they commit a crime, it's their fault. A magic believer (chrisitians in particular) can just ask for forgiveness. It's kind of a scary, albeit predictable, realization when you think about priests overseeing children.

no, I would say the other way around. If a Christian commits a sin, the first thing people say is "oh my god, but he's a christian he must have lied about that!", if a muslim does something wrong, then its "because he's a damn muslim", if a Jew does something then its "because they don't believe in Jesus". A mormon "it is cult activity". There is always a reason to blame somebody. People need to leave religion out of it, and accept we are all human and we are bound to screw up.

Anything good comes from God, flooding the earth and killing the first born. Everything bad comes from Satan. I have no accountability for myself ! I screw up, it's not me its Satan. Mysteries of faith require no thinking at all.

I don't really feel that way. But believers do push us to prove everything. All they need to do is prove god exists and we will shut up.
