Shari'ah is the comprehensive Muslim law derived from two sources: (a) the Quraan (2) the Sunnah or practices of Prophet Muhammad (Peace and blessings of God be upon him). It covers every aspect of daily individual and collective living. The purpose of Islaamic laws is to protect individual's basic human rights to include right to life, property, political and religious freedom and safeguarding the rights of women and minorities. The low crime rate in Muslim societies is due to the application of the Islaamic penal laws. These however can only be applied in a society which has established all other Islaamic laws to ensure justice and protection of each other's rights.

One of the sharia law is not to pay or recieve "interest" on your money (e.g. in banks). It is obvious that banking system cannot function without "interest". But muslims have not been able to provide a solution to "interest" free banking, though simple people are befooled in the name of "Islamic Banking", where "interests" in these banks are just given islamic names.

No, Muslims call for Shariah to be ruled everyone.. so yes that allows chopping hands for stealing, stoning women for adultery while married and sometimes even pre-marriage. and lashing people, and cutting legs and hands. beheading, woman testimony in courts worth half the testimony of man. so one woman nobody believe, but two woman yes. Man inherite double of what woman inherit . Man can beat his wife, if he fears she might cheat on him. no porn, no mean without mentioning allah and using sharp knife to slaughter, no alcohol, no chess (some muslims say chess is ok), no songs, no music. so these are some of the laws that they want to prevail on earth!!
