the bollard won, cars had it!! i have the bollard, one of those huge yellow and white ones in the middle of roads, was it not secured properly? i feel the council are responsible how too you fight "the act of god" which is what they,ll say!?

the wind may have been an act of god but if you feel the bollard wasn't properly secured then it's negligence on the councils part.

take photos of the bollard where it was supposed to be and of your car and get in touch with your council.

it shouldn't be up to your insurers it should be on the councils public liability insurance.

If you are insured fully comprehensive you should be able to claim under your own policy. You may loss your no claims bonus and have to pay an excess. If you are insured Third party fire and theft you could try claiming against the council, but you might be on a hiding to nothing as you will have to prove they are legally liable. It may be worth talking to a solicitor, depending on the amount of damage to your car

Collision loss - you hit an object in the road, you're responsible for damage to your vehicle. Sorry.

surely they must cover u they r cheeky buggers these insurance companys if u are not covered 4 these type of accidents what the point i even havong insurance it is a joke
