I've just found out that my old religion - (which I won't mention because I feel kinda weird about it right now, even though they have millions of followers) - believe that Jesus is Michael / Michael is Jesus. I had no idea they believed this. That is confusing to me.

Do other religions believe this?

Not sure what you're former religion was, but they were right. The term "Archangel" only is refered to in the singular, never plural as if there are more then one. Which is appropriate since the term "Archangel" means --- Chief Angel.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 says (paraphrasing from King James) that the Lord will descend with THE archangel's voice. So here Jesus is described as having an archangel's voice --- no other individual in the scriptures is given such a description.

Revelation 12:7 speaks of Michael and HIS angels, signifying that Michael is the leader of angels.
2 Thessalonians 1:7 mentions of Jesus and HIS mighty angels.

No where in the bible does it say anything that there are more than 1 army of angels on God's side, you could make a case that Satan has an army of angels gone bad, but never is it said that Michael or Jesus lead them.

1 Peter 3:22 says that the angels were made subject to Jesus, not some angels.

It is clear that thru the scriptures, rather than thru doctrine, that Jesus IS Michael the Archangel. Jesus is an earthly name anyway, it wasn't even his name --- it was his Greek name. As he was Hebrew, his name may have been Yeshua or maybe Yehoshua, we really don't know for sure. In the scriptures, names change quite a bit, because names in bible times were reflective of there responsibilites or circumstances, they were descriptive.
Abram changed his name to Abraham, Sarai to Sarah, Jacob to Israel. Jesus was a name here on earth as the Christ, Michael is another in a different role in heaven --- the Archangel.

So they were right.

Actually this is a biblical teaching, I think that it has nothing to do with religion but rather people that have studied or researched the Bible. The fact that Jesus acts as Michael the Arch-angel is blatantly obvious to anyone who studied or knows the Bible. I am confused as well, why would anyone deny a fact? Oh I see, because it contradicts the bogus concept of the Trinity!!!!!

What does the Bible say? It is Jehovah’s will and arrangement for Jesus to resurrect the dead. (John 6:38-40) It is God’s trumpet that sounds the call for the dead to come back to life, just as God instructed that trumpets be used for an assembly of his people in ancient times. (Numbers 10:1-10) Jesus issues “a commanding call” to the dead to come forth, just as he did on occasion while on earth. (John 11:43) But now he calls, not with a man’s voice as he did then, but with all the power of “an archangel’s voice” (en pho·ne′ arkh·ag·ge′lou). However, only an archangel can call with an archangel’s voice! And no one but Jesus has been given the authority to resurrect the dead. Hence, this rousing prophecy gives additional strong reason for identifying Jesus with the archangel, Michael.

they ought to say this, because you should maintain in mind that when Jehovah's Witnesses say that Jesus isn't God, properly then Jesus can't in basic terms be a son of God or only a nomal human and nonetheless be the only to sacrifice His existence for us. that is interesting that folk want to talk about how the trinity would not make experience (which by technique of ways the Bible isn't definitive about "I and the daddy are One" Why might want to Jesus say something so ambiguous, why might want to he even hint at a unison like that? you spot, Jesus does no longer definitively rule out the trinity) and then all the failings that coach the trinity, which incorporates the actual shown reality that Jesus has to forgive and carry our sins for us (something in common words God might want to do), it truly is a definitive evidence for the trinity. If Jesus wasn't God, and also you call him "Lord" and "Savior," then i imagine there is something iffy about that. in the different case, i wager you've gotten faith that Michael the Archangel is Jesus. perchance you've faith in that, and that is high-quality. in basic terms understand WHY that clarification is major. that is because once you're taking of the trinity, then you definately ought to change with something esle. both that, or you may create an total different faith, yet Jehovah's Witnesses attempt to adhere to the Bible, which by technique of ways, I'[m no longer confident I understand why Jehovah's Witnesses even settle for the Bible? i ask your self how they imagine the books in basic terms positioned themselves jointly. It became Early Christian bishops that positioned the Bible jointly, an same those who positioned the Bible jointly positioned the doctrine of the Trinity jointly (3 hundred and sixty 5 days three hundred's) so i'd not believe interior the Bible if i did not believe interior the Trinity. a minimum of the Mormons do not settle for the reality of both of this stuff, so as that makes a touch more effective experience.

I will not answer for other faiths because i can not pretend to know what everyone teaches. However I can answer for Catholic Christians. Our Church definitely teaches that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, is part of the Trinity(Father, Son, Holy Ghost(or Spirit)), was born of a virgin(Mary),was crucified and rose again on the third day, and that His Blood bought our Salvation. They taught us a lot of other stuff about Jesus, like His life and miracles but I guess maybe Michael might be able to perform miracles too.

Michael is an Angel, a servant of God and a created being. Though very powerful there is no suggestion anywhere in the Bible that Michael is God incarnated, but most people who consider themselves Christians of any denomination do believe that Jesus is God in the flesh. To my knowledge only the Jehovah's Witnesses differ on that point but they also use their own version of the Bible which no other churches accept. I hope my answer helps you. God Bless You.

May be I can help.
Jesus was the very first creation of God, probably hundreds of millions of years ago. Time has no meaning in God's world.
We know what we know from what Jesus said to those he loved in the bible.
We know also that there are angels who were created by God and 1st son. Isn't it logical he would have a name? Archangel is a title, as is God. God's given name in English is Jehovah (born out by many other names in the bible) that were derived from God's name. "Jah" being the familiar of Jehovah.

You must be a member of the JWs. They are a look alike cult who try to pass themselfs off as followers of the christian faith.
Yeat they are no different then the most of the other cults.
Michael is not Jesus period the reason i can say this is simple, Jesus commanded the evil spirits and rebulked them showing he had authority over them. Michael on the other hand said the Lord rebulk you. Jesus is the Lord Michael is speaking of when he said that. Jesus came out of the Father. Jesus was with the father before the foundations of the earth called the word of GOd from the beggining. The word became flesh and dwelt amoung men. This is jesus coming forth to become man, live in the flesh of man and die on the cross. Jesus is shown carrying the upper cross beam in the bible. It was a cross and not a steros. If it were a steros ( a single upright pope ) No man could have carried it. ( they are two big and to long ) The cross beam was heavy as it was but not like the steros. This was the normal practice is a person was going to die on a steros with a cross beam. The prisionor would be made to carry the cross beam up the hill. As the bible confirms the use of a cross beam how can the JW denounce the bible and its claim and then saywe follow God.
In early JWs history they once upheld the cross and celebrated the birth of Jesus. They even had christmas parties. On the watchtower maz. they even had a picture of the cross with Jesus christ on it ans his name shown Jesus Christ below him on the cross.
A good wed site to refer to in researching the JW is www. watchthetower .com

I am unsure of others who may believe that, but JWs are the most vocal proponent of that even though there is nothing even remotely close to suggesting that. It is an old recycled idea that the russelites propagated and I forget where it came from originally but lets be real, heresies have been around since the beginning.
