The cheapest is walking. However, if you mean flying, the deals change all the time. You're looking at about GB£800 for the cheapest but then you're probably only getting about 6 stops for that from the less popular and cheaper airline.
The more stops you have, the more expensive it becomes. It also becomes expensive if you want to travel North/South off the mainstream routes (which from the UK is typically flying to SOuth East Asia, Australia and the US befoe flying home).
Speak to a travel agent regarding RTW tickets. You may also find it more practical and cheaper not too fly but this does dpend on the region and country you are in.

The cheapest way is to be able to be very flexible with your dates. Also, if you're in your twenties or early thirties, check out Contiki vacations. You can see a lot of the world in just ONE vacation with them. You are responsible for your own flights, but the tours look awesome. :)

you will get a "around the international" airline value ticket for as low as $2000 depending on how many places you choose for to pass to alongside the way and the place precisely you propose on vacationing. often that's maximum inexpensive in case you carry on with North usa, Europe, and Asia - which incorporate South usa, Africa, or Australia/New Zealand/Pacific Islands will upload lots to the value of the value ticket. attempt web content like Airtreks or Air brokers.

Take a look at http://www.statravel.co.uk and http://www.roundtheworldflights.com. I spent £800 including tax for my ticket, but it obviously depends where you want to go and how flexible you want to be able to leave your ticket.
