Get a strong magnet and put it on the out side casing (where the window shows the tape)of the tape, and slide the magnet back and fourth or side to side. If you have a video camera. Go into a quiet room with no noise hang up plain white paper on a door or wall . Zoom in on the paper. nothing should be in the view finder but the white piece of paper. Hit record and keep recording until the tape ends or until the footage you want is gone. Or just rewind the tape make sure the switch on the tape says rec. on and tape over every thing on the tape.

You take it down to a local TV station and ask to put it in their bulk eraser, or you record something else on top of it.
