as an IT guy the answer is YES!!!!! If they wanted to, they could look at your history, what files you have downloaded (even if you think you've erased them). If they are good, they can find everything you've ever done on the computer. So be careful.

Yes I work in IT and routinely inspect peoples surfing habits, reports go to people who need to see them etc.
every time you type something into Internet explorer and press enter it is logged, even the most basic of equipment has this functionality.
some companies pro actively spy on people some don't.
I can 100% guarantee that at least one person a day looks a porn
at my company, (and not just men, you would be surprised at what I've found on women's computers)
I would say if you have an aggressive IT policy i would be wary, but otherwise it may only come to light if you are looking at porn or other really naughty stuff.

Of course they can. You may be able to delete the history from your PC but not from the server.
It can be a sackable offence if you spend too long on there for no good reason.

it's possible, but it depends on how closely your network is monitored.
If no one is looking, then no one can tell, but if someone decides to look, they don't need to look at your computer history, they can get your IP address and look it up in the history inside a router, where you can't go to erase it

Yes they can.
Some companies have software that not only logs the website you visited but it logs the amount of time spent on that website.
Be careful
Meant to add some have keylogger software that monitors your keystrokes. (they can see everything you type)

Of course. They can check in your log-in times and everything. After all, it is their machine you are using isn't it?

the IT knows every thing unless you delete your comp. history, and then they'll still know that you deleted the history.
