Overweight can definitely cause snoring, even sleep apnea, which is dangerous and can be fatal.
Carrying extra weight can also cause leg and even back pain.
Taking off some weight and seeing if it addresses these issues quickly is a good way to find out. Even 10 pounds can really make a huge difference, believe it or not. You don't have to lose like 50 or 100 to have it change your medical outlook or the way you currently feel.

Yes being overweight can cause leg pain and she needs to see the doc to be sure there is no medical cause for the pain though. As for the snoring this needs to be checked by the doc also to rule out a medical cause for the snoring. Many medical causes of snorng are serious so seeing the doc is the next step.

When a person is overweight, generally 100 lbs or more there definately is alot more health issues that are present.
A few pounds overweight also have their health issues but not like those in people who are extremely overweight.
Circulation is compromised in heavy people thus causing the pain you speak of which is probably more noticeble when the person is standing or walking.
Other than doing the obvious losing of weight, getting off of your feet will help some of the pain.
Snoring is caused of the weight that is put on that person's chest as they sleep.
Our bodies are totally relaxed when we sleep, this person's extra weight is compromising this person's ability to receive the air they are trying to take in while breathing which encourages the snoring.
Alot of people with sleep apnea are people who are overweight and once they lose weight, their sleep apnea often times resolves.
Overweight people pose a bigger risk if and when they require surgery because putting them to sleep for required surgery is now a bigger risk because of the weight on their chest when they are sleeping. The extra weight makes it harder for the ventilator to inflate their lungs.
Encourage this person to lose the extra weight, there are soooo many health issues that the overweight person is not totally aware of that they are at risk with because of this weight.
