hiya, thank you for your lovely statement, im a single mum and am bringing up my 3 year old son on my own and it is very hard but extremely worthwhile. i was with his dad for 5 years and we split up not long after my little one was born so ive had no choice but to get on with it. your mum has obviously done a very good job bringing you up, and i hope my son grows up with as much appreciation and respect that you have for your mum. thanks for brightening up my day xx

When i Split with my baby's father two years ago it was a bit hard because I only had my mum. My boyfriends' family haven't really bothered with us much anyway so we never really had them to help us in the 1st place. My daughter will only stay with my mum and no-one else and i found that a bit hard. But I bet it's really tough for you though. Then my mum became ill herself for a few months and boy did I feel it? I was suddenly on my own with no-one to help me. I did find it really hard. So I think you're really great bringing up children alone. My baby's father and i got back together a few weeks later and mum got better but we still find it a little hard sometimes.

At the risk of being held responsible for all the ills of the world, i'm a single mom. I've been raising my son on my own for nearly 12 years, he's a lovely lad. To be fair to his dad though, he does see him twice a week, so he does have some input .....usually just to moan though :-)

I just wanted to say thank you. I am a single mom of four beautiful children. My kids are a handful, but I wouldn't change them for the world. I appreciate the fact that you can acknowledge what your mom did for you, and I think it is just wonderful.

Thank you :-) My ex left when my daughter was 6 months old....we got some child support for a while but he seemed to disappear. Anyway...just this week he found me on MySpace and suddenly wants to get to know his child. Mind you, he's had 4 kids and gotten married since he last saw his first child, my daughter. YEAH RIGHT! Good luck on that one buddy!

I know how it it, and my hands (both) are way up for single moms, and just to let you know I am a single dad with two daughters and my poor daughters have a dead beat mom. But I do hand it to all the single parents who did not give up on their kids, God Bless them all....!!!!

Yep holding hands up and saying proud to be a single mum... it ain't easy as we all know... but we do our best for children and splitting from there Dad is not easy, and then having to sit your children down, and tell them 'i don't love your dad anymore and he wont be living with us anymore'....because lets be fair... who would not want to be that 'happy family' which does exist, but unfortunately it does not exist for all us.... so yep hands in the air...
