I doubt the doctor would approve. Phentermine should not be taken if you have high blood pressure, it will increase your risk of stroke and heart attack. Look at the GI Diet by Rick Gallop. Its a good healthy diet and is sustainable. I have lost a lot of weight with it in the last 7 months;

I was prescribed Phentermine and I have High Blood pressure and currently taking meds for it(lisinopril). When my doctor prescribed the medication to me(because I need to loose weight quickly for health reasons) she warned me that it will increase my heart rate and if my BP go's over 140 to call her immediately. The first day I took it (yesterday) my Bp spiked all the way up to 172/109 with a pulse of 139 and that is while on BP meds. Called my Doctor and she said to stop taking them, that phentermine (while it gives fast great results), that some people just can't take them because it raises BP too much and to monitor my heart rate every hr and make sure my BP go's down(had to double up on my BP meds to do it). Today I'm experimenting with double my Bp meds to see if it works. Otherwise I'm gonna pic up different pills later in the day that my doc wants me to try and take tomorrow.
So yes you can take them, but I really don't recommend it.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

The medication can potentially elevate your blood pressure. I'm glad you mentioned doctor supervision. Your physician could counsel you regarding medications or other methods that could assist you in reaching your goal.
I, like you, also take medication for blood pressure control and could lose some pounds. I've found that walking, eating more vegetables and fruits, less "sweets" and drinking lots of water helps me in shedding the pounds and inches.
Good Luck!

Definetly talk to your doctor, blood pressure is the silent killer, and you can't mix too many meds with it. If under supervision I think u would be fine because they can keep a constant check on you. I would not mix a diet pill with it, those things cause problems without having high blood pressure.

That's up to your doctor. At your weight you should be able to get a prescription. But you'll need to have your BP monitored while you're on it. You might have to get a blood test first too.
It does work very well and I've been happy with my results.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

Now that's a great question for YA! I'm so glad YA is here to answer my medical questions; it's such a bother to call my doctor or pharmacist and ask these questions.

Taking medication when you don't absolutely need it is always a bad idea, as they all have side effects. Eating well and burning more calories than you ingest through healthy and moderate exercise is always better than taking a pill.
