I am original owner of 2001 new beetle. No prior mechanical problems at all. I got bad gas. Car ran about 30 miles until gas ran out. I wanted to run out all bad gas but car did get completely empty and run out. I put new gas in but now it won't start at all. I tried to find the "special tool" required to remove in-line fuel filter but auto parts stores don't carry tool or filter for 2001. What's up with that? Does anyone have suggestions ?

Also, how do you do a compression test ?

Not hard to figure out that I'm a female right.

I'd go to a mechanic. I've a feeling the fuel line may be pressurised on this one, so it needs depressurising carefully. Anyway, the mech will have the tool to do your compression test.

An oil substitute position at the same time with couple of minutes lube should have the ability to do it for you. replacing gas filters even with the reality that many times common to do may have consequences for being executed improperly by someone eco-friendly. you'll favor to enable rigidity off of the gas rail previously unhooking the clear out. i'd propose procuring a service guide on your motor vehicle from Autozone. more recent autos also regularly have a particular disconnect device which will be mandatory to get rid of the former clear out. They run about 7-15 funds. i do no longer understand what autos "Rudedude" has replaced gas filters on, yet I actually have owned Fords, Chevys, and Suzukis, and performance in no way heard of such prices for equipment and gas filters. I respectfully disagree at the same time with his answer. Snap-on equipment are also literally not sensible for the traditional homestead-mechanic through their severe fee. There are a lot extra just about priced disconnect equipment obtainable. As for disposal of the gas clear out, wrap it in a plastic grocery bag and placed it in the trash can.

I also vote just go to the dealer. It's the easiest thing to do.
