it definatly keeps you in shape. you should do it. you have to learn to hold positions for a long periods of time. that keeps your muscles toned. there are yoga workouts designe for abs.

It may tone you very well, but it isn't a cardio-vascular (CV) workout. It is important that you don't stop your CV, not only for its most effective fat burning effects, but also to keep your heart healthy. Yoga will not make your heart work as hard as, for example, running can. So, I suggest that you do yoga but go for a run 2-3 times a week.

Yes, I think yoga helps. It is a fairly easy workout, it keeps you flexible, it calms you, and if you accept energy flows it does help your body maintain beneficial energy flows.
