I certainly am not uneducated and unemployed. I own a country club. That aside, I can tell you that the spelling and grammar problem is not relegated to Yahoo. I employ 75 people in season. The employment applications (primarily from the young people) are full of misspellings. It's pretty sad. I don't know how these kids think they are going to get anywhere in the world.
AND...what about spell check? How hard is it to press a button?

not really. just a little lazy.
nobody's gonna grade your spelling anyway so why waste your time proofreading your posts?
besides, you must remember that yahoo answers is not just for english speaking people. this yahoo service is available all over the globe and a lot of people here are not native english speakers and not good typists.
if you want perfect spelling and grammar, you're in the wrong place. maybe you should go to a Yahoo Grammar and Spelling service, if there is any.
don't be so high minded, people who speak and write bad english are those who know some other languages you may not have heard of.
your correct english is not proof enough that you are smart. you just happened to be english, that's all.
one more thing, if you are really that educated, you should have known howard gardner's research about multiple intelligences. intelligence, according to this harvard research, is not only limited to linguistic and mathematical aptitude. you are judging yahoo answers posters based on their grammar. you don't even know if they're good engineers, musicians, or artists. but i don't have to tell you that, maybe you're too smart to even admit that you're bluffing here.

Having a degree does not automatically mean your smart. It just means that you could afford to go to school and avoid becoming an adult for another four years. Seriously, I have worked for people who have no real world common sense whatsoever. Also, you have asked "are all yahoo answers visitors a little slow?". You are a visitor so I suppose your including yourself. Look, people are lazy and they don't use spell check. That's it, get over it.

I agree, it makes me a little scared to see how many people have grammar errors. I constantly see there and their being misused and to and too. I know yahoo doesn't check grammar but you would think they would at least use the "check spelling" feature.
I don't know if this is an uneducated issue or they just don't care.

Many people just do not concern themselves with using proper grammer and spelling. My dad always misspells things and his excuse is that he is typing very fast and I can understand the emails anyway and he is a teacher! (of Math thankfully). Not everyone is uneducated and unemployed, some people just don't care. And some people are younger, so they use the internet shorts (which personally drives me nuts).

Quite the opposite!
I've got a degree, and I only tend to go on yahoo answers when I'm bored at work (like right now!)
If I make any spelling errors, it is only because I'm typing something quick before somebody looks over my shoulder

some time previous after I were given on-line in 1995, I understood that no longer anybody understood pcs, now to not indicate the internet. It took me a lengthy time period to study myself. Now, 12 years later, it takes position to me that human beings do not understand a thanks to apply a search for engine. i have continually been instructed that the more youthful anybody is extra useful at using the internet, for the reason that they were delivered up on it even as previous fogies like myself (i go on 60) are literally not as adept at it. yet wide-spread I see requests like "what track is this" with some lyrics and that i need to ask your self....... have you ever no longer heard of Google, do you no longer understand a thanks to apply the stepped ahead search for function? even as the internet and search for engines were youthful, you had to apply Boolean words to narrow a search for, now, it truly is all in undeniable English. So the question of no matter if or not they are uneducated might want to should be responded sure, except we settle for the very incontrovertible reality that perchance they are only lazy, a minimum of from an psychological aspect of view.

I think some of them think it's cool to spell like that... some are mirroring their own speech patterns and some are just plain lazy.
